174195 QUESTIONNAIRE (This helps us sort teams!)
1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon? Medium
2. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon? Pretty available. 4-5 books
3. Which time zone do you live in? EST
4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon? Yes
5. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc.) Yes. I would need a tutorial but I know I have great backup. Full disclosure. I have messed up the team spreadsheet before by just posting my numbers but it will be alright.
174195 For my second continent I visited Antarctica. The Impossible First: From Fire to Ice - Crossing Antarctica Alone by Colin O'Brady. 5 stars. Great story of determination.

174195 I’m think hard about Peach Blossom Spring. It looks good. I also think I will get The Maid as an add on. It looks good too & the wait list is long at the library.

174195 I’m still reading in order & I like it. I used Come Rain or Come Shine (Mitford Years, #13) by Jan Koran for #6. It has a tent with light coming out of it. For #7 I used Group: How One Therapist and a circle of Strangers Saved My Life by Christie Tate. It fits the prompt perfectly & the book was good but 🚩 alert. For the first continent I used Names For The Sea: Strangers in Iceland by Sarah Moss. It’s set in Iceland (Northern Europe). Some of my favorite settings are the Arctic, Antarctica, and the Himalayan’s ( Asia) so that’s what I’ll read. I will be doing side reads maybe for the whole month of February. It’s Black History month in the U.S. & I have a few books picked out that don’t fit with reading the ATY challenge in order. I plan to be back.
174195 For my first continent I went with Norther Europe. Names for the Sea: Strangers in Iceland by Sarah Moss. 4 stars. Nonfiction about the year the author & her family lived in Iceland. Very informative. I enjoy books set in the arctic, Antarctica, and Asia (mountain climbing). Those will be the continents I use.

174195 Before reading the Group I read about it. I saw a range of ratings from 2 stars to 4 stars. I didn’t read reviews before because I didn’t want spoilers. The therapist really upset me at times. Also I really felt something’s he did were unethical.

174195 I read Group: How One Therapist and A Circle of Strangers saved My Life by Christie Tate for prompt #7. Has anyone else read this Book? I gave it 5 stars because it is good but I'm not recommending it. This is a book that the reader should really research before picking up. I would love to know what others thought & also is this the right spot to discuss this book.
174195 I read Group: How One Therapist and A Circle of Strangers Saved My Life by Christie Tate. I'm not recommending this book because people should research the book before reading to make sure it will work for them. That's my very strong suggestion.
174195 I used Come Rain or Come Shine (Mitford Years, #13) by Jan Karon . 5 stars. I love this series. This book has been on my TBR pile since 2016. I don't know why I left it there so long.
174195 I read The Wee Free Men (Discworld #30; Tiffany Aching, #1) by Terry Pratchett. 5 stars. I choose this book because it has been on my TBR pile since 2016, It has been sitting there so long I forgot why I bought the 30th book in a series I had never read by an author I had never read. The book was so much fun. Also I used the book for all three challenges I'm working on. I will continue reading the Tiffany Aching series.

174195 For week 4 I went with a book with a competition as a major plot element. I read Sprinting Through No Man’s Land: Endurance,Tragedy & Rebirth in the 1919 Tour de France by Adin Dobkin. The book wasn’t as good as I hoped for. 3 stars. I did like the prompt. I’m also trying to use books I own whenever possible.

174195 I finished the first two prompts. 1. A book with with a main character whose name starts with A,T, or Y. I used People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry. One of the main characters name is Alex. I found this book through the Pop Sugar challenge. It is their first group read so this worked well. Overall I didn't like the book. I didn't like Poppy feeling responsible for everyone's reactions & constantly trying to fix everything. I think it was Emily that said she wished the reader got Alex's POV but it was all Emily. I would of liked Alex's POV too. 2. A book connected to a book you read in 2021. I read Blacktop Wasteland by S.A.Cosby in 2021 & loved it. I read his next book Razorblade Tears for this prompt. I loved it just as much.

174195 Emily wrote, Sherri, I have Razorblade Tears slotted in for week 4 (GR choice award)! Looking forward to hear what you think.
I liked it as much as Blacktop Wasteland. It was hard to put down.

174195 I haven't committed to reading in order but I will try & see if it takes. I finished #1 with People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. I'm reading Razorblade Tears by S.A.Cosby for #2. I loved Blacktop Wasteland which I read in 2021.

174195 I just saw the selections for January 2022. Right now I think I’m going with Fiona and Jane by Jean Chen Ho. I don’t read enough short stories.
174195 I think I’m using People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry. There is a character named Alex.
