Yay! I haven't logged in all day (trying to get some reading done!) and I'm so excited to see we are already finishing our first books of the challenge.

As you finish books, please move your column from the Plans tab to the Completed tab, and if you feel so inclined, shade the row for the prompt you put down, so that we know that one is already used. We can start with a yellow shading for our first round of beads.

I don't! I'm not a baker, so I'd rather leave it to the experts around here haha! There are few different types, but the traditional one is made of brioche dough braid with a cinnamon paste (like a cinnamon roll) and then filled after baking. Topped with icing or glaze and colored sugar sprinkles!

There's also a lot of bakeries that ship within the continental US, if you wanted to try an authentic one.

1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon?
I don't have any real goals, but I'm off for the full week, so I'd like to prioritize reading over other things (like scrolling on my phone). Hoping to finish my two current reads and read 2-3 more after that.

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
My Book of the Month box just came in, so I hope to read at least one of those (Family Family and The Disappearance of Astrid Bricard - both fit the under 2024 ratings prompt). I also want to work on the last few books I have left for the Tournament of Books (finishing Blackouts, reading The Librarianist and a few others).

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
At home, on my couch, relaxing. Also some in the car while traveling a bit to celebrate Mardi Gras.

4. Are you participating in the team challenge?
Yep! Might have been a bit selfish and put myself on Krewe of Muses because it's my favorite (they decorate and throw high heels for their parade!)

5. Is anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week?
Well I have a toddler, and daycare is closed Monday and Tuesday. It's surprisingly difficult to read with a 15 month old at home.

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
I'm not actually a huge fan of participating in Mardi Gras, but I'm having a lot of fun coming up with games and ideas for this theme.

I'm not very far into any of my current reads, though I do plan on reading a bit tonight. I'll make sure to save 100 pages for tomorrow! My books fit a good number of prompts so I'll see where it falls when I finish them.

LYNN: For the both prompts, you can use either first or last name. I intentionally left it vague.

Tanu: The word spicy is up to your interpretation. It can be romance, sex scene, or you can use it for a character that is spicy, maybe there is a lot of sass and sarcasm... however you choose to interpret the word!

Ellie: That's correct, you can fill the beads as you choose to fill them!

Hooray team! I'm just glad I was able to get all of these threads posted early enough for us to plan and for me to enjoy the next couple days of reading.
