Whew. Two weeks until March, so just checking in.

I'm at 13/18 read, but there are three (Brainwyrms, Cold People, and Sacajawea) that I don't think I'll be able to get to before the tournament starts. So all I have left is The Bee Sting and The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store left!

Hey all! I'm not sure if my reading has gotten slower or I'm just more distracted than I used to be, but I finally finished The Librarianist. I started our second black bead... I figured we finished that one first and easily, so that might be an easy one to get a second one of. It didn't finish any beads we don't have yet.

I'm going to pick up The Disappearance of Astrid Bricard tomorrow and I should get through it quickly after slogging through a lot of literary fiction recently.

We are doing amazing for this challenge! Great job team!

My hold just came available for Bee Sting! I'm working on The Librarianist right now for my next ATY prompt, then jumping on that one. Definitely going to need a break from the lit fic after this marathon!

When people think of Mardi Gras, they think of the parades in New Orleans. But Mardi Gras history goes back to humbler beginnings, when men on horseback would ride home to home to gather ingredients for a gumbo. This is how the idea of "chasing the chickens" came about.

So today, we are "chasing the chicken", so to speak. You're going to need to break out a watch, your phone, or a timer for this one. The object of this game is to name as many books as you can in one minute. Ready, set, go!

We are so close to finishing so many beads! My current read will likely end up being a second use for a prompt we've already filled, as it doesn't fill any open prompts. Hooray team!

Ohhh Robin, what did you think about The Rosie Effect? I reread The Rosie Project last month, but I struggled getting into the second one.

I just finished Blackouts! It definitely took me a minute to get into, but once I did, I found I couldn't stop. It was a bit convoluted, a bit confusing, but I found myself trying to figure out what was fact and what was fiction the whole time... all of the characters (excepting the two main ones, I think) are real people in history! If anyone is finished and wants to talk about the ending, I'd love to chat because whew, I have theories but I don't want to spoil anything.

I finished Blackouts last night, and put it for the title that starts with a letter (or, in this case, letters) in BLACK. It was good, surprising, not my usual type of book but I really got into it.

I'll be driving to my parents' house for Mardi Gras today, so I'll clock some audiobook time. Hopefully I can start my new print today but we will see how the toddler cooperates!
