Finished this, and didn´t like it as much as the first one, which I found really funny. The setting is interesting as well as the addition of Corky, but otherwise I wasn´t as entertained as by the first in the series. Will give it one more try and then see if I´ll continue.

Loved Homegoing, and The Other Black Girl is on my tbr list. Thanks!

I loved the first book in the series, so just have to join!

About half-way through and struggling. Guess I need a break from this one.

Thanks for all the comments! It´s working now, though not on sale on my page.

I tried two of the books, but the Amazon link from GR didn´t work. ???

Finished today, and loved Vivienne! A pity she shouldn´t appear in the other books! The love story was quite unnecessary. ;)
Also agree about the chocolates, and wondered when they´d finally find out about them when I long since knew. The ending was a bit disappointing with the complicated mechanisms and the obvious culprit, but good on the whole.

Thanks Sandy! More books for my tbr list. ;)
Pamela wrote: "I’ve just started this and am enjoying the contribution of Vivienne so far. It’s nice to see an intelligent and resourceful female character at the heart of the action."Same here! :)

That´s been on my tbr list for a while now, Valerie. :)

Yes, I heard that the books were each getting better with 4 being on the peak, so I´ll give it another try.
I was also astonished by Sosia´s death, as she seemed like a main character in the book.

This took me some days to read (besides one or two other books), and I was disappointed, as friends loved and recommended the series. Not bad but sometimes dragging, and the mystery was in the background. I also didn´t like Falco´s scornful language.

Oh, yes, especially Freddy and Cadfael! Thanks Susan!

I started this and finished the first part. So far not as funny as I thought but more sarcastic.

Wanted to say I was so glad yesterday that Scarrow´s Eagle series was also on sale here, so I got those I hadn´t had before. Now only when to read them all... ;)

There are lots of his works on Amazon DE, some for 3 to 4 Euros, some only 99p, all on Kindle (but there are also paperback editions). Also Translations into Italian and Spanish. There is a biography about the author that´s not available atm.

I liked this too, though no fan of the drugs involved and all the confusion at the end. Was a bit over the top, but otherwise good.

I nominate
The Chianti Flask by
Marie Belloc Lowndes. A few Dollars or Euros on Kindle, and also on Kindle Unlimited. Don´t know about the UK, but that seems to be an eternal problem. It has good reviews.
An enigmatic young woman named Laura Dousland stands on trial for murder, accused of poisoning her elderly husband Fordish. It seems clear that the poison was delivered in a flask of Chianti with supper, but according to the couple’s servant in the witness-box, the flask disappeared the night Fordish died and all attempts to trace it have come to nothing. The jury delivers its verdict, but this is just the end of the beginning of Marie Belloc Lowndes’ gripping story.
First published in 1934, this exquisitely crafted novel blends the tenets of a traditional mystery with an exploration of the psychological impact of death, accusation, guilt and justice in the aftermath of murder.

Intriguing idea of this second book, and it was even a bit better than the first in the series. Though I found Bill highly suspicious in the beginning, I guessed right that it was the lawyer in the end, though the solution was rather complicated. I found Henrietta a bit odd, esp. re her feelings for Bill.

Finally started this, and I´m about half-way through. It´s really exciting!
