okay, i'll look early august, but i'm still confused lara, because i thought your job required you to be ther the first week and a half of each month . . .?
. . .so for the UK contingent, after the second week of august would be best, as both lara and mart could make it . . . i'll check back with flaggler on monday and see what availabilities, if any, look like . . . i'll wrack my brain for further options . . .we'll make it happen . . .
. . . the only available dates for fort worden are july 7 and 8 (weds. thurs.) . . . i've been on a waiting list for a couple of months in case any other dates opened up, but they have not, and reservation time is nearing . . . this gets us a six bedroom house which sleeps 14 (i can sleep in the moho if necessary) . . . i don't think we have to clean the place . . . chances are, these dates aren't going to work for some people, but that's all we've got . . . i can check back with fort flaggler again, as well, if people would rather me try that . . .
... i'm gonna' write a short tribute for the nervous breakdown... i'll post the link... oh, and btw, started light in august!
. . .okay, broke down and ordered it on amazon . . . here's hoping i don't go back and order the cliffs notes . . .
. . .okay, i'll get on it this month . . . i'll try for fort warden again, late july / early august, two or three nights . . .if worden isn't available, i'll try flaggler, or look around for somewhere else . . . i'd like to keep it in the neighborhood of PT, because the annual outing to one of the world's great used bookstores is such a great tradition, and helps keep them afloat--god knows we can buy books . . .
. . . ahoy, new folks! . . .lordy, i should probably introduce myself, i've been so absent recently . . . but i'll find myself a little less time-crunched the next couple months, so hopefully i'll be seeing more of all of you . ..
. . .this is interesting, mart . . . because when i wrote west of here, i purposefully mashed the historical together with the contemporary to write not a historical novel, but a novel about history . . .
i like the title of wells tower's debut, it's kind of a throwback: "everything ravaged, everything burned" . . . i'm also partial to the title "west of here" . . .
Shel wrote: "You know, Jon, when I put all my books away I actually alphabetized them. Guess who you're next to. Nanny nanny boo boo.". . .guess there's know eugenides, exley, or fante on your shelf!
Shel wrote: "Adrian, those are absolutely fantastic.". . . i think this years NBA winner has a pretty crummy title: "Let the great world spin" . . .
. . . found a dv tape tonight from dork '08 in port townsend, and spent the evening watching the footage. . .good times . . .stirred up all my dreams of buying up port townsend and making our fiction files utopia . . . got me excited for next year's party . . .
