I just read It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover for the BookTok prompt and that is the perfect way to describe the reading experience.
152458 So I just finished reading To Love and to Loathe by Martha Waters and Emily Henry was blurbed on the cover in case that is of interest to anyone.

Yeah I'm not using this for the BookTok prompt either. I actually just finished It Ends with Us for the prompt. It was really good and not what I was expecting for anybody still trying to fill this prompt.

So the current timeline in Palm Springs is clearly a disastrous vacation. What is your most memorable vacation story either worst or best?

So was Henry able to make you think differently about airports with Poppy's confession about why she loves to travel?

Looking at the January Challenge I finished thread, I liked Jessica's point about the book not focusing on the people Poppy meets on vacation. Has this book shown enough interaction with fellow travellers or does this book have a misleading title?

It's still January so by my estimation you're not late.

152458 Happy check-in! No new snow here but yesterday it was back to minus 40 and tonight it is currently raining????

Anyway had a couple loved ones test positive and are recovering. They were fully vaxed, it's still rough to get Omicron. We're apparently a couple weeks away from our peak and it's a little bit terrifying.

Finished reading:

The Halo Graphic Novel ⭐⭐
So I thought this would explain the game but it's for the fan base and more about after the first game. Also didn't really like the artwork so I was bored.

Otto: A Palindrama ⭐⭐ (2022 palindrome title)
Again I was bored, but I'm glad to have this prompt done.

Something is Killing the Children, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐⭐ (2015 character with my name)
Sorta changed the 2015 prompt so this would count. This is an intriguing horror series that I will continue.

Badger to the Bone ⭐⭐⭐ (2022 found family)
This series is just fun for it's ridiculousness.

Tales of the Slayer, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (2015 based on a tv show)
Basically all of the authors who wrote good Buffy books gave a short story about different slayers. :)

Paper Girls, Vol. 3 ⭐⭐⭐
I'm glad I continued this series despite not enjoying the first collection. Not sure where it's going but that's okay.

Silver Shadows ⭐⭐⭐ (2022 two povs)
It was nice to get back to this series but the mc ends up imprisoned and it was tedious until she escaped.

A Sloth's Guide to Mindfulness ⭐⭐⭐
The title caught me and it was as cute as you think. Good points too.

It Ends with Us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (2022 BookTok)
This put me through the wringer. I thought it was a fluffy romance but nope. Worth the hype to me.

PS 2022 11/50
PS 2015 4/50
Goodreads 22/165

Currently Reading:
Endlessly ya fantasy series ender
A Night to Remember this is so good and heartbreaking
Sweep of the Heart released chapter by chapter

QOTW:
In 2020 I did the 2020 challenge and the 2016. 2016's list had a poetry collection listed and ever since I've been reading poetry. It's so much nicer to read when you can understand it or not and you don't have to analyze it.
Magical realism and westerns are still a hard nope.

I'm the same, library trips are essential plus our libraries hand out the antigen test kits.
152458 Check point 13 - 17

Besides the obvious no work, what's the one thing you need for it to feel like a vacation? Are you a schedule fan or do you want to play things by ear?

The road trip music is huge for me, I'm bad for just wanting to lose my voice singing and not talking. I'm not good at scheduling but it does make a trip better to do the work before hand.

"As long as I have him, I will never be alone again." Why does it take Poppy so long to reach this conclusion? Why has the current Poppy still been unable to act on this thought?
Immaturity seems to be why it takes Poppy so long to figure out why Alex is important to her but still not able to realize her feelings. The more we go through the book and see Poppy avoid changing her relationship with Alex, her insecurities and fear show.

That sounds like a stressful way to travel, needing to know where you are going to sleep matters.

First that jumps to mind is the BookTok prompt because that's what I had planned for it.

152458 Before Christmas I made those chocolate oatmeal no bake cookies but a slightly different recipe with peanut butter. They were pretty good but not everyone else thought so.

In terms of this book and/or its characters, It Aspires...?
So I thought I was so clever with the question and now I have to have an answer for it... 🤦‍♀️

Have you ever booked a hotel room with two beds only to end up with one? Does this common event in rom coms bother you or are you a fan?
I'm kinda shocked that this has happened to two of you in real life. I guess I don't travel enough for this to have happened. This plot device always gets an eye roll from me, but it won't affect my enjoymen.

Do you ever catch yourself buying into the social media promoted ideal of perfection? Poppy makes her living by staying relevant with social media and having an inspiring brand. How does she avoid low self esteem when she has dealt with so much bullying as a kid? Or does that explain her ennui or her holding on to a friendship instead of a relationship?
I not one for posting photos of myself. If my eyes are open and my facial expression isn't awkward I'm good, mostly don't have the patience for it. At this point to me present Poppy seemed fairly confident compared to all the flashback chapters that she mentioned her high school experience. It didn't seem like a confidence issue but just change/risk regarding Alex.

What is the best road trip music? Or is this a dumb question when audio books exist for this crowd?
No instrumental, tried and true things to sing a long. My faves are Oklahoma soundtrack, old country, Michael Buble and other musical soundtracks. I know cds are over but I still use them.

152458 Hey so totally enjoyed my peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich for lunch today! It had been a while and it’s all your fault check in people. Thank you.

Powdered peanut butter rehydrated tastes the same as the stuff in the jar.

Peanut butter and chocolate is the ultimate pairing to me.
