Thanks, Sharon. He’s a very independent, strong-willed man so it was a bit scary doing that. His brother smacked down any irritation he might have felt because he knew, just from the symptoms I described, just what was going on. No blowback yet!

Thank you, Anita. I know I’m blessed. His surgeon called me directly, immediately following the surgery, just after the support staff said they rarely do that. I have much to be thankful for so your prayers are already working.

My BIL went through the same thing about finding it as a secondary find. He had back surgery and they were doin..."
Thank you for sharing that, Shelby. I was praying hard for my hubby and this feels a bit divine.

Trust your instincts. I knew something was terribly wrong with my husband and am glad I went over his head and screamed for help. He still needs the pacemaker so that will happen in six weeks. But, if his heart hadn’t failed we’d never have known about the tumor until it was too late.
Still not exhaling fully but I’m getting there.

I’m listening to Who Cries for the Lost by C.S. Harris, Sebastian St. Cyr #18. Decided to get the audiobook instead.

my review

I’m listening to A Little Ray of Sunshine by Kristan Higgins.

Charlene, I remember when you were going through some of those years. I have to do my reviews first thing in the am because by 9:00 am, I’ve got nothing left. It’s better now, though.
Thanks for your encouragement.

His cardiologist is the #2 in the region, working for #1 who handled him the first time he was in ER (the second trip was because of his primary care doctor). His urologist is the #1 in the region and the care he’s received from the nurses and staff was wonderful. The new PCP? In my own doctor’s practice.
It makes all the difference being able to trust his care team.

Hubby is much better, at least they’ve solved the problem that created the congestive heart failure trauma (failed CPAP machine). He’s waiting for a pacemaker operation (insurance requires a 3-month wait to evaluate the drug cocktail, even though his cardiologist recommends it immediately) but before that, he has to have an operation to remove a tumor from behind his kidney. That was discovered after having the MRI for his heart issues. That surgery was scheduled for last Friday but was cancelled while he was waiting in the OR! The surgery that preceded him overran by 3 hours and his surgeon did not want to start in the late afternoon on a Friday. He’s rescheduled for next Tuesday.
He’s regained a lot of his stamina and is holding his weight (he lost almost 100 pounds). He’s more of himself and now has a fantastic health care team. After the second ER visit, I refused to pick him up when he was scheduled for release until he changed his primary care doctor who didn’t think his weight loss or struggle breathing abnormal. His cardiologist found him his new doctor, also approved by his brother. I can breathe again and don’t suffer from the constant anxiety that’s been with me all year. It’s affected my reading and caused quite a bit of sleep deprivation.
I’ll be spending the weekend trying to catch up on the book discussions (am in the middle of one right now). I’ve let my health decline but am actively working on that, too. Feeling better than I have in months.
Thanks for “listening.”

Happy Place by Emily Henry, a lot more than a romance.

Foster by Claire Keegan, a powerful little story I’ll never forget.
