Hmm.. At least now I'm feeling bad about not being able to watch the 3rd season. Thanks for the fair warning; I'll try to keep my expectations low.
Anyway, have you read this book?

147920 Wow... you guys are really killing it!

I've managed to read 1/4th of Needful Things and it is AMAZING! Tomorrow is Sunday and I'm planning on reading the entire day as I'm not able to put down this book (even to sleep) at all!!!

Happy reading everyone! Hope you guys are enjoying your spooky reads :D

That's a bummer. When I read on Wikipedia that Stephen King as well as Steven Spielberg are its excutive producers, I was really excited. As it is there are only 2 seasons on Netflix right now so I'm pretty sure I'll have to leave the series incomplete after season 2 :(

Yeah, sure. As it is the Buddy Read threads are never really closed, you can take as much time as you want to complete the books :)

147920 I also nominate The Stand and Nightmares And Dreamscapes :D

147920 Sweet!

I vote for Under the Dome. I'm actually watching the TV series right now so it'll be great to read the book too!
147920 I agree, I felt the same. And THANKS A LOT for the booklist and the genre list! I'll be readign a few authors next year for our Genre Challenge, esp. Diary of Bridget Jones. :D

I especially loved how it was told that Sara no longer felt the urge to hide behind one of the books, that she actually started liking people. I wish I'll meet people like this, then probably I'll stop hiding behind the books in public too. :|

ATTENTION EVERYONE

I've just set up 2 Nomination threads for Buddy Reads for 2017 - one is for Robert McCammon and the other one is for Stephen King.
Following are the links:
Robert McCammon Nominations (for March 2017): https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Stephen King Nominations (for April 2017): https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

For now, I've assigned March and April to each of these authors, but that can be changed if needed.

Also, I was thinking if we can have more buddy-reads planned for next year. It'll be fun and we all will get to enjoy reading some great authors together, so please feel free to name a few authors of your choice to have author buddy-reads for the remaining months of 2017.
We can discuss and pick 6-7 more authors :)

147920 Hello all the RMFAO-ites,

We have decided to have some really fun Buddy-Reads in 2017. This is the thread to nominate books by Stephen King for a Buddy Read in April'17.

We're setting up this thread so early so that everyone interested in participating can contribute to the nominations and, once the books are picked, can buy them or order them from their libraries well in time for the Buddy-Read month.

Please nominate your favorite books or the books that you want to read/re-read by Stephen King in the comments below.

The final poll for voting will be set in late December, and the final books will be decided in January'17.

Please feel free to share not only book recs, but also your experiences, anecdotes, fun facts or anything really related to Mr. King.

Also feel free to share about these reading parties with your friends on your Blog, Facebook & Twitter; the more the merrier. :)

Will you be making a "McCammon Nominations" thread at the Buddy Reads folder for the nomintions? Maybe more people would see it there, if they aren't following this Genre Challenge thread."

That's a brilliant idea, Cheryl! I'll set up the thread right away. And while I'm at it, I'll put up a thread for the Stephen King Nominations thread too. Thanks for the idea!
I'll post the links here as soon as I set them up (in an hour or so.)

147920 Cheryl wrote: "I really need to read more books by McCammon. Perhaps people would like to do a buddy read of one of his books in the future?"

Great idea! I've never read anything by him yet, but reading everyone's comments I'm feeling like I'm really missing out on something big.
Please make a suggestion of 5-6 books by McCammon and we can have a poll set up to select 1 or 2 (or more) books for a nice buddy-read.
@Dagny and @Andrew - Your suggesttions will be greatly appreciated too! :)

147920 Andrew wrote: "I hadn't thought to read some horror, but I started Usher's Passing some days ago. A great horror, based on Poe's novel, with some incredible element and a mystery in the background."

This book sounds very interesting, Andrew! Hope you're enjoying it :)
147920 Dagny wrote: "Yes, there are several things at the end of the eBook I have. A list of books and one of authors if I am remembering correctly. Let me know if you want me to copy this and email it to you."

Yes, please... I'll be really grateful if you can :D But only if you can do it without going through any trouble. I'd hate myself for troubling you and wasting your time.
147920 Do you have a booklist at the end of your copy, Dagny?
My copy is the ARC and I guess the publisher decided to add the book list just before releasing the book because my copy doesn't have any list :(
147920 Dagny wrote: "I was so glad that George ended up thinking that the week with Sophie was worth losing her voice in his head. "

I agree! That thought was really moving. I feel so bad for him, but I'm glad.... okay I won't say anything now, it'll reveal a lot. We'll talk about George once you've finished reading this book :) :D

147920 @Dagny - Wow, you're on a roll, Dagny! So happy you're able to read the series you planned on reading. I'm completely behind all the series I wanted to read. I'm thinking that I'll do more of Series and Classics for next year.

Happy reading! :)

147920 Cheryl wrote: "I look forward to reading your review of this book. I never read it because the length of the book intimidated me. I hope you enjoy it! ..."

Thanks, Cheryl! I know what you mean and trust me it's starting to intimidate me too now. I barely noticed it before because it was kept on my shelf next to The Stand. Lol. It's literally half of The Stand.

Happy reading!

147920 I started with Needful Things today. My first horror for this month :)
