Happy to share... :)

Yeah, India is pretty awesome that way (touch wood!) I have 2 actually, 1 is the maid and the other one is the cook.
I know the maid-crises in US. All my friends there complain about it a lot.
I guess it's because of the economy. Everyone knows how many poor people are there in India, but trust me they're not even half the full-blown population of the upper middle class and the upper class.
The standard of living in India is actually pretty high (which, of course, no one likes to show in all those 'Indian' Hollywood movies. Lol!)
Here people are looked down if they don't have at least 1 maid. Can you imagine that!? My mom has 3 and my dad has 1 full time male-servant who's been working in my family for 3 generations, as in my Grandfather took him in our household when he was 12 years old, then he looked after my Dad and his sisters and then he looked after my brother and me till the time we were with dad.
He was a huge part of our family and after my Grandfather's death, he sort of was like my grandfather in a sense.
Now again he looks after my dad.

How I miss them both <3

Sorry for rambling, it's just that very few people know how India really is and it feels good to talk about our Country with friends from abroad :) :D

Will you keep the types of genres and the months they are scheduled the same each year? Just curious."

This is something I have been thinking about for a while now. Actually in 2015 we had 1 genre per month. I wanted to try something new for 2016 so I did 2 genres per month. Now I'm confused which one was better...
I guess we all really need to discuss this subject, because the way i see it we had a lot more people participating in 2015's Genre Challenge.
Any suggestions are welcome :)

147920 Hahah... I'm exactly that! Hehe... I don't even sleep at night when Vishal's not at home. I spend the entire night writing or watching some series and sleep when my maid comes in the morning... lol.

147920 Finished Deadraiser. My review will be up tomorrow so I'll leave the link then :)
It was really unique and creepy. It is about necromancy and it really scared the hell out of me!

I started reading Gerald's Game and it was going really great, but Vishal's got some work now and I'll be spending the rest of the month home alone (most of the days.) So I've decided not to continue with the horror books anymore. I'm already scared enough and I don't think I can sleep easy alone at night with all the horror stuff in my head. Lol!
So I'll switch to other book for the rest of the month :)

How you guys are having fun!

147920 @Jennifer: Yes, we all love Stephen King (and who wouldn't!?) I'm so happy you're jining us! I've always thought about reading Joe Hill's books, but never got around to buying them (because every time I think of buying his, I think of buying his father's first. And Mr. King has written so many that I still have to buy another 2 dozen of his, lol.)
But now that you're here, please suggest me your favourite one by Joe Hill. At east I'll know where to start :)
And wow, is she a character from one of his books?

147920 @Dagny: I started reading Deean Koontz's 77 Shadow Street, and it scared the hell out of me. I had to leave it at page 33! Can you believe! That book really freaked me out and I had a hard time sleeping for almost a week!
Anyway, which ones are you planning to read?

147920 @Cheryl: Wow, you've already read 5 books for this challeneg! That is awesome! And I know what you mean about Vampire stories starting to sound the same. It happened to me too last year, that's why I like to maintain my distance from this genre. Though I do like to read an ocassional vamp book. BTW, have you read Vamipre Academy series. I'm not a lot into YA, but I really enjoyed it. Great characters.

Hehe... yeah... Halloween Special King month ;)

147920 BTW, I watched Sully too, it was really good! I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan and the only thing I would have loved better than watching Tom Hanks in this movie would be Clint Eastwood playing Sully himself. :)

147920 Dagny wrote: "Hope the movie is good, Heena! Judging by the book, the movie should be great fun to watch. There could be some awesome special effects."

I watched it, but unfortunately it wasn't anything like what I was expecting. The trailer completely blew my mind(!) and I was really looking forward to watching this movie, but it turned out to be very slow :(
The effects were good, but they really dragged the scenes making all the amazing effects and costumes seem not that good.
I loved the casting though. And the soundtrack really added a beautiful atmosphere, but as I said as soon as something good happened, they dragged it and killed the joy.
Though I did like the concept very well, and I'm really looking forward to reading the books! :D

147920 I'm finally done with Needful Things... finished it yesterday. It was Stephen-King-Awesome and I loved it! There was no way I could have finished a 930 pages book in 4 days... :D
The world building was perfect and I LOVED the crazy idea of a creepy store seling 'needful' things in exchange for souls...
It wasn't outright creepy, but it did manage to keep me restless at nights (3 to be exact.)

I'll be starting with Gerald's Game tomorrow :)

147920 OMG! You guys are so ahead!

I'm going for this movie tomorrow!!! And I'm so excited as the trailer is so AWESOME!
I would have prefered to read the book first, but it won't be possible now, so I'll read it after the movie :)
147920 Cheryl wrote: "It's easier with a Kindle or book reading app. People don't have to see what you are reading. Although, an interesting book cover can start an interesting conversation. "

I agree. It makes reading feel more personal too. And as Dagny said, it makes people curious too... hehe :)
147920 Dagny wrote: "I just to be a bit of the opposite - always embarrassed to read a book in public. Finally got over that and now I whip out a book at the least little wait, even in line at a store, lol.."

That's great. i'm happy you got over it and now read in public. I know that feeling of mild embarresment and feeling odd to be holding a book in public, but due to the circumstances I got over it when I was 16. I've never really cared what non-readers feel about me reading in public, in fact, I feel like I have this power when I read in public, something like - You might not like me, but my books sure do! It's a weird thought, but it helps me with my social anxiety.
Whatever works, right?
147920 Dagny wrote: "Heena wrote: "Do you still remember what it was you wanted to say about George? I'm happy for him. He's got some people who care a lot about him now. "

Yes... I'm sure i was taking about Claire and Sara finding his daughter behind his back and calling her to the wedding. Just before his daughter comes, the moment when Sara looks at him and thinks something like his face shows the sadness but only when he thinks no one's looking at him. That really broke my heart, but the next thing we know his daughter is there. I was sooo happy for him!

Congratulations, Heena, on the imminent publication of your first novel, Deceived."

OMG! I just saw this.... THANK YOU, Dagny! It's really very sweet of you <3
Deceived wouldn't have been possible (or even readable for that matter) without you, Dagny. You are the only person (other than Vishal) who read it in its raw naked form, and it war your advice and corrections that gave me enough courage to feel confident about it in the first place :)
So thank you again, for everything!
