Nick gave her head one more scratch before standing. "Smart. " he smiled and headed down the aisles examining all of them. They were all cute but he still liked the first best. "Do you see any you like?"

Nick thought for a second about how much dog squeeze he'd have to pick up with two. "Okay... one for now" he grinned. He stopped and hurried over crouching down. A small collie puppy yipped at him through the cage. Nick stuck his finger in to pet it winning a slobbery finger from licks. He laughed a little and moved sideways for Dustin to see "What about her?"

"Nope!" He grinned and took his hand once he got inside. They were led back to the kennels which housed all the dogs. Nick's eyes widened seeing all of them "Can we get 5?"

"Fiiine ill drive home" he said realizing it was fair. He was already unbuckled and practically leapt from the car in excitement. He hurried in and waited for Dustin shifting from foot to foot anxiously.

"Nope. Cuz im riding in the back with the dog" he grinned hopping in the passenger seat and buckling up. He was glad to finally get one. Maybe it would help keep him company when Dustin was away.

Nick grabbed the keys and tossed them at Dustin "You drive" he said jogging down the stairs and grabbing his jacket from the hanger.

Nick shrugged 'Their faces are scary." He slipped into his Converse."I'm ready when you are"

"True... But not a pitbull. Those things terrify me" he said pulling on some jeans and a shirt. He grabbed a pair of socks and sat on the bed to put them on.

Nick went over to his side of the dresser and started throwing together and outfit. "Do we want a boy or a girl? More of a small and fluffy or a bigger and not so fluffy?" He asked shucking off his pajama bottoms.

"Yes!" He said hopping out of bed "We should get ready to go" he said tugging on Dustin's arm gently. "Lets go lets go lets go!"

He sat up quickly looking at him "You're not just saying that to get me excited right?" He asked trying to keep the excitement out of his voice.

"Im going to freeze to death at night without you as my body heater" he smiled looking up at him. "If we had a dog he could keep your spot warm while you're away" He's wanted a dog for ever but he wasn't allowed one but he kept trying.

"Sorry. Forgot to turn it off" he said setting it back down. He covered up with the blankets again resting his head on Dustin's chest. "I dont know if i could go to sleep again though. You can sleep if you want though"

He kissed him back before his phone buzzed with the alarm. He oulled away with a groan and sat up. He reached over and grabbed his phone from the nightstand and shutting off the alarm.

"Hey, you never know. I could be a badass soldier. " he said in his defense. "You'll be back in no time though." He said trying to reassure himself more then anything.

"I wish i could come with you. Watch your back. So i don't miss you so much" He said quietly planting a kiss on his nose.

He rolled over so they were facing each other. "You'll write me as much as you can right? So im not left wondering if you're okay or not.." he said softly resting his forehead on Dustin's.

Nick rolled his eyes knowing it was impossible. Watching the love of your life go off to a different country with the possibility of death terrified him. He mumbled lightly and sighed trying to sleep as well.
