139735 I just messaged the other three outstanding.

Welcome Heather!!! I'm a captain and I've never played before. It looks kinda fun so we will work it out together I'm sure.

🗝️ Final Call…

The box is almost ready to close.
This is a 13-week partner challenge where each book brings you closer to opening a mysterious locked box. Weekly prompts, reflections with your partner, and a message each time you unlock a new keyhole. What’s inside? You’ll find out—together.

But… we have an odd number of players.
That means one team is incomplete.

👉 Either someone can claim the mod (me!) as their partner…
👉 Or we need AT LEAST one more brave reader to step in.

The lock won’t wait long. Who’s turning the key?

Sign up HERE There's still time!!

139735 🎉 Congratulations — You’ve Completed The Narrative Nexus! 🎉

You and your partner have navigated every twist, turn, and tangent this challenge had to offer. From Mirrors to Splits to Wildcards, you’ve built bridges between books and stitched together stories in ways only you could.

📚 Whether your connections were deep, funny, chaotic, or delightfully stretched, you’ve proven that every prompt can spark something new.

This is the end of the official prompts, but not the end of the journey — the stories (and friendships) you’ve built here are the real prize.

Thank you for being part of the Nexus. 🌟

139735 🧩 Prompt #2: Real World / Other World

Type: Split Prompt

What this means:
This is a Split Prompt, which means each of you picks one half of the paired theme and reads a book inspired by that choice. Your reads will be different, but thematically linked.

For this one:
One of you will pick a book grounded in the Real World — contemporary, historical fiction, memoir, or anything that feels rooted in reality.

The other will escape to the Other World — fantasy, magical realism, speculative fiction, or alternate realities. If it bends the rules of reality, it fits.

📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.

Reality or fantasy — both have stories worth telling. 🌍✨

139735 I do not usually read non-fiction so i'd be ok with you taking that, even if it takes a bit.

I may try and find a quick one tomorrow, but I'll let you know??

139735 🧩 Prompt #8: Fact / Fiction
Type: Wildcard Prompt
What this means:
This is a Wildcard Prompt, which means each of you will choose one side of the theme — one selects Fact, the other chooses Fiction.
Then, your partner gives you three book options that match your chosen side — and you pick one of those to read.
Optional Bonus: Once you're done, feel free to switch roles and repeat — but only if you want an extra round of fun!
For this one:
Fact can include nonfiction, memoirs, history, true crime, essays — anything rooted in reality.
Fiction can be absolutely anything made up: fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, romance, or whatever story lives only in imagination.
📌 Once you’ve both finished reading, post your Story Stitch (your connection blurb) in the Check-In Thread to unlock your next prompt.
Truth or tale — it’s all part of the story. 📖📰

139735 Hello Everyone. I co-captain Lisa. I'm from Northern Minnesota so Central Time Zone.

I have been known to read anything for a challenge, the Book Quest challenge this year has been good and re-opened my eyes to other genres. Otherwise I'm a 95% Romance Reader, mostly MM. While I don't mind a good mystery in my books, ones that I can't figure out are not my Jam. I like light fluffy reads and predictable is ok for me.

I do need some books with Aliens, so I might have to give Dungeon Crawler Carl a shot.

I've never played Bookopoly before, but have done many team challenges and captained those. I'm currently in 22, but I have 2 that are ending soon.

In my real life I'm a work for a Synthetic Oil Manufacturer and help with their website and Mobile App. Its new for me and super fun!

139735 Disregard. Thanks!

I was just double checking some things on my spreadsheet and noticed I read the same book for two tasks. Can you unhide my challenge spreadsheet so I can see if I can make a replacement? Please and Thank You!

139735 Ok. I read Micah and it takes place in Switzerland in the Alps, so it snows so much that they don't usually plow or shovel. But they are demons so don't need to walk to travel.

Cam is an absent minded puzzle master who comes to solve the puzzle of the dragon door. It takes weeks to complete because of the order in which the items have to be solved.

So If I take Order and you take Chaos, can we make it work with weird weather??
