137842 Welcome everyone! We're so glad to have you all. Now, settle in, find some series to read, and enjoy!

And make sure if you have a series you're reading and can't find a thread for it, find a mod and let them know. They'll make one for you so there's a place to get people talking!

137842 DO IT! IT'S SO GOOD!
Jul 15, 2014 06:08AM

137842 Just don't rush through it, Jan, or you'll be in the same boat as Lauren, LK, and I... waiting a year! *sigh*

Thankfully, I'm rereading them (slowly) with my partner (he rarely reads, so he's a slower reader, but he got interested because I raved about them)... we're just starting Fool Moon. :)

YESSSSSSSS.

God, I wish I had enough PTO for "new book flu."
Jul 15, 2014 06:05AM

137842 I'll be getting to this soon, hopefully. :D

137842 I'll join, of course. I can't resist signing up for a Read-a-thon. Hopefully I can follow through on this one, as the last three or four I've joined have been epic failures.

137842 Witch Hunt (Preternatural Affairs, #1) by S.M. Reine

Why am I reading this?
I got the third book off of Netgalley and didn't realize it was third in a series until after I was approved. So I picked up book one. I LOVED IT!

How am I reading this?
Kindle edition!

My Friends' Reviews?
Don't think any of them have read this one yet!

When am I reading this?
I just finished book one, and will be reading books two and three in July/August.

For fans of Dresden and Urban Fantasy, this book was so much fun, really fast-paced, and had some great characters.

137842

Book #1 Synopsis
A brutal murder.

There are scratches on Cèsar Hawke’s arms, a discharged Glock on his coffee table, and a dead woman in his bathtub. Yeah, maybe he brought the waitress home for some fun — he was too drunk to remember it — but he knows for a fact that he didn’t kill her. He’s an agent with the Office of Preternatural Affairs. He doesn’t hurt people. He saves them.

The cops disagree. Now Cèsar is running.

The search for a shaman.

Isobel Stonecrow speaks with the dead…for the right price. She brings closure to the bereaved and heals broken hearts. But when she resurrects someone for the wrong client, she ends up on the OPA’s most wanted list.

One risky solution.

Tracking down Isobel is the last case assigned to Cèsar before he bolts. If he finds her, he can prove that he didn’t kill that waitress. He can clear his name, get his job back, and bring justice to the victim.

She’s just one witch. Cèsar has bagged a dozen witches before.

How hard can one more be?

137842 I stayed up into the night and finished it too, Anima, and I absolutely loved it!

I hate that I can't read spoiler tags on the GR app. I'll go check out your comments on my computer when I get a chance.

I loved the Others and the creativity behind them all! So many cool characters!

137842 You're lucky I shared his name at all, Muffin!
Jul 12, 2014 10:23AM

137842 Muffin, in the pic LK posted first, he's all greasy from the photo shoot where they all got dirty. So yes, we should bathe him.

137842 I can tell I'm not going to be able to put this down now. The first part was slow to grab me, but watching all these characters react to Meg in such positive ways is really entertaining. :)
