🤞🏽 I hope it was good. That sounds a wee bit ominous."

It was good. I don't mean to be ominous.

I got a head start on it since I'm always weeks behind everyone else, then it just so happened to go by quick for me. 🤷‍♀️

I'm like you Judy. I have my Kindle and Audible subscriptions right now and I'll very rarely pay for a book. Although, as I always say, it's the least expensive hobby I've ever found.

The kids here went back today too or it's teacher's workday.

I think I tried to watch Jack Reacher when the series first came out. Then I tried the books. Neither hooked me, but I should try again because the plot really should work for me.

125752 Speaking of books... (lol)

Have y'all set your GR 2024 Reading Challenge goal? I missed my 2023 goal by a few books. But I reset the same 100 for 2024. 🤞

125752 Like Jill said, I get most of my audiobooks from various libraries. I have an Audible subscription, but I reserve credits for books that I know will be expensive, like the JR Ward series.

I also find free audiobooks on Kindle, but the quality of the books isn't great. If the link works right, these should be the free audiobooks via KU.

I think I've mentioned this before, but a few years ago I cut DirectTV out and bought an attic antena. For recordings, I paired it with a Tivo box with built-in lifetime membership. At the time, I think I paid less than $500 for the whole set-up including installation. So it's a chunk up front, but 5 years later I still don't have a cable bill.

As far as subscriptions, I'm not a fan of tv so I don't worry too much about streaming. My daughter has a Prime membership so I get the Prime stream from her account and my cell phone service provides free Netflix so she gets that from me.

Anyways, the antenna route is worth checking into for cost savings.
