Pick Me Challenge!!!

Have we read this or talked about reading this? Not that I'm recommending anything. At my current snail reading pace, I can barely get through a book or two a month. Just curious.

I think it's quite a shock to North Americans who don't have relatives overseas or haven't traveled themselves.

Both of my parents had a 'situation' at church as children. In separate countries from each other and neither in the US. As adults, those child experiences caused them to raise us kids in a more liberated manner from the church. Other than for special occasions, I don't remember them ever forcing us to attend. It was always our choice to go or not.

All that to say, things have gone on in the background for a very long time. In my opinion, likely gone on since the beginning.
