125752 Pick Me Challenge!!!

1. Create a new shelf or update your existing shelf on your bookshelf that includes approximately 20 books that you would like to have someone use to pick a book for you to read. Books will only be selected from the shelf you choose.

2. By the end of the month, post in this thread that you want to participate and provide a link to your Pick Me shelf. (If you've participated before, I already have your link and you don't have to re-post it.)

3. On the first day of the month I’ll use the randomizer to pair up everyone.

4. Friend your partner who is picking for you or set your profile to public or your partner will not be able to access your shelf.

5. You have until the 3rd of the month to post your selection for your partner in this thread.

6. Come back after finishing the book selected for you by your partner (even if it's after the month has ended) and let everybody know what you think about it.

Sign up period will remain open until the end of this month.

125752 So much to catch up on! I feel like I've been gone a year and I'd swear I logged on last week. Sorry, but the lack of email notifications has really impacted my participation. Before, if I got an email notice that someone posted, I was itching to get on hear to reply. Now it just kind of slips my mind and there's so much I missed when I do log on.

Amy, my goodness, congrats to your daughter! Such an exciting time.

Judy, great news about your MIL and your SIL too. I bet your MIL is going to love the place once it feels more like home.

Di, happy belated birthday to Billy. I feel the same when I remember my oldest has passed 30. Yikes!

Stacie, 5:45 is so early. I feel for you. I get up early like that most days but NOT because I like it. It's always with an unwanted alarm clock.

125752 I knew World Cup Tickets were going to expensive, but I almost fainted when I saw a top tier ticket going for almost $60K.

Getting a handful of tickets is going to be the price of a European tour or more. And I thought I was going to go to every local game. HA!

Sounds like you just had a flare up. Antiinflammatories really help. I remember my brother getting his knees drained before going to steroid shots. The shots only work to a certain point. I know we get diminishing return on them as arthritis progresses.

I hope you continue to feel better. Don't push it. Let the inflammation subside before getting back to your usual routine.

I'm going to try to start this one tomorrow. BTW, I liked the Valor and Doyle series even more than this one.

Arthritis is the bane of my life. I had osteoarthritis is my knees by my late 30's. Spinal osteoarthritis by my 40's.

I did get a steroid shot recently, but funny enough, it was for carpal tunnel.

I'd be surprised if an orthopedist decided to go to a steroid shot before trying other things first like physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medicine. The first shot is magical, it knocks pain out for a long time. But the shots get less effective the more you have them.

Did Bill ever get steroid shots for his hip before surgery?

125752 Stacie, 5? Seriously? Do you get to sleep while she's braiding?

Di, I'm sorry to hear about your knee. It may well be arthritis acting up. The cold wet weather does a number on my knees. I hope you feel better soon.

Without email notifications when a friend posts a comment, I think our discussion boards are not as active as they once were.

Amy, I feel so bad for your family going through such a bad flu outbreak. It really has been awful this year.

Judy, gorgeous picture. I hope you had lots of fun.
