Right? Same here. I don't stress out easily. But I've felt off all year so far. Maybe I just need a few hot summer months to cheer me up. I'd even settle for Spring blooming sometime soon.

I think this might be the first time I have picked for you! My pic is The Dark Light of Day (The Dark Light of Day #1) by T.M. Frazier. It is hanging out on my TBR list so I am excited to see what you think"

I started my pick. Lucked out the audio was free with my membership. It's really sad and a bit scary at the beginning.

Anyone else feeling discombobulated this year?

125752 Our school closings are due to state politics as opposed to Federal politics. Several Texas school districts are each closing multiple schools because education funds are being held back by the state while politicians hash out their disagreements.

On the federal level, my heart is breaking over losing the head start program.

While other countries are making progress towards a more humane world, the US seems to be hurtling backwards in time

Can’t go wrong with Lisa Kleypas."

That's what I was thinking!

125752 Thanks for posting such an awesome lineup! These days I have to pick and choose a few instead of trying to do all the BRs. But with this selection I'm scrambling to narrow it down so I'm not behind at the end of April.
125752 My library hold is estimated at 13 weeks, so if I have time to get to it this month I'll buy the Audible version. It's <$10.

It's an absolute nightmare. My daughter is an elementary school teacher at a STEM academy which is being SHUT DOWN at the end of the school year. My grandson is 4 and at this point, they may just keep him in daycare next year instead of trying to find a public school Pre-K program. We're all eyeing private school at this point. So sad because private schools have not been historically better than the public school system in the US.

I ditto EVERYTHING you said. Outside of my family, I keep my opinions to myself. Honestly, I'm a bit frightened. I almost didn't vote because I didn't want to become a target --- IF.

Maybe I'm more skittish than most because my father's family escaped Sicily during WWII and my mom lived through Peron's rule and overthrow in Argentina. I grew up hearing stories from them.

Funny because I said last November I needed to sleep through the next 4 years. I'm also on a news strike.
