121045 Reserved for Questions & Answers:

--Question:
It says that in order to catch a level 2 or level 3, you have to spell the preceding levels (level 1 and/or 2, respectively) first. Does that mean that you have to completely spell the level one before you read any books for the upper levels, or is just finishing level 1 first enough?

--Answer:
In order to catch a Level 2 Pokemon, for example Ivysaur, you only have to spell out the corresponding level 1 Pokemon, in this case it would be Bulbasaur. For level 3, Venusaur, you would have to first spell out level 1, Bulbasaur, and then level 2, Ivysaur.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
--Question:
can you work on multiple level 1s at the same time, or do you have to completely spell out one pokemon before moving on to the next?

--Answer:
You can work on multiple level 1 Pokemon at the same time.

Gotta catch 'em all! - Pokemon Generation 1:
Pokemon or Pocket Monsters has been around since 1996 in form of games (first on the Gameboy, today on the Nintendo switch and with Pokemon Go on Smartphones), the long running anime (with over 1000 episodes and more than 20 movies), various magas and it seems like it has no intention of stopping.

And finally you can catch all the Pokemon you want with reading books. Just spell the names of the Pokemon out you want to catch.

A list of the Pokemon of this generation follows, but you always can take a look here: https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/national
Plus for more in depth info (very detailed) info on Pokemon I would recommend this page: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wi...

Notes:
Many Pokémon are able to evolve from or into other Pokémon, a process that typically makes them larger and stronger.

In order to catch the Pokemon, you spell out their name. To “capture” the evolution of a Pokemon you need to spell out the former stage of said Pokemon.

In this challenge, the evolution stages are marked by Lvl 1, Lvl. 2 and Lvl. 3. To spell out the name of a Lvl. 3 Pokemon, you first need to spell out Lvl. 1 and Lvl. 2. Ex. : To “catch” Venusaur (Lvl. 3) you would start by reading Bulbasaur (Lvl. 1) and then Ivysaur (Lvl. 2)

In Generation 1, there is one Pokemon, Eevee, who has a branched evolution, which means it can evolve into either one of 3 different Pokemon (Vaporeon or Jolteon or Flareon). To “catch” Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon you have to catch (aka. spell) Eevee 3 times.

Nidoran♀ and Nidoran♂ are in essence the same Pokemon, simply split into female and male, they always had their own number, so: Yes you have to spell out “Nidoran” 2 times. For better overview, the Pokemon and their evolutions are grouped together, always starting with Lvl. 1 and indicating with “=> #xxx” the next Pokemon you would have to spell out.

The groups can be read in whatever order you like. You can start with #025 Pikachu and #026 Raichu (or even leave Raichu out, if you don’t want him). And continuing with #58 Growlithe

SPELL OUT OPTIONS:
There are five different options you can use for this spell out:
(1) First letter of the book title
(2) First letter of the author's first or last name
(3) First letter of a main character's first or last name
(4) First letter of the series title
(5) First letter of the narrator's first or last name ---- only IF you are doing the audio version of the book :)
