I read A Court of Thorns and Roses. It was my best book this month, and I wouldn't have read it so soon without this mini-challenge. Probably not for years, actually.

If I've bought the book, I'll try harder, which is why I'm starting to get more picky about what I buy. I also have difficulty with recommendations from friends and family because our tastes are so different. Except for my mom. She and I are on the same page, which is really fun.

Every now and then one will grab me so that I feel compelled to read all the books straight through, and that's why I usually wait until all the books are out before I start. Otherwise I don't know when I'll be caught having to wait and not wanting to. I hate cliffhangers too!

I did that for The Black Magician Trilogy too! It's still one of my all time favorite series. I love it when something grabs you like that instead of being work.

I will still buy books by a few favorite authors, but otherwise I have to catch up on all the Kindle books I bought the last few years before I can buy anything else. If it's not at the library, it has to wait. (I'm actually doing really well at this plan!)

I also have such an overwhelming to-read list that I've split it into categories to help me cope and prioritize. The most useful shelves are for books I own and next in series, and apparently which books are available at the library, since that's my biggest shelf. The next largest after that are Fantasy, and then Set in British Isles... yep, that sounds about right.

I'm finding this a tough challenge, too. It's making me wonder who gets to pick the criteria for 'best books.'
