If your childhood fantasies involved making doll clothes and jewelry, then yes, it's entirely possible! Thanks, Brenda. :)

I've been soooo busy, it's unreal. I make crafty stuff for a living, and first I had a big order online, then a craft sale last weekend, and now I've booked in for another one and I don't see how I could possibly be ready in time! Sometimes I wish I had more than 2 hands, haha!
Also, I've been writing whenever I can spare a moment. Got my second rejection letter from a publisher yesterday, but there was an encouraging hand-written note attached that has really inspired me to work all the harder at it.

Actually, I'd put that one on my life-is-too-short-and-I-wish-I-hadn't-wasted-time-on-these-books list. ;)

I did read the Signet classics unabridged edition, and I would highly recommend it! I've also read an abridged version, and while you do get the full story, I kind of felt the loss of a lot of the atmosphere and history surrounding the events that Hugo gives in the unabridged original.

Welcome, Karin! We don't expect everyone to join in with every group read, so no worries. That's why we have multiple group reads going on at the same time - hopefully there's something for everyone! Feel free to jump into any conversation you like. :)

I might have been editing it at the exact moment you looked for it, Roger, sorry about that! It's right here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Thanks, Melissa. :)

I am 50% into Bossypants but not enjoying it very much, perhaps it's because I don't know the author, but sometimes I don't get..."
I'm finding it difficult - I usually lean more towards the angsty side of fiction, heh! But I do plan to read a Dave Barry and probably a P.G. Wodehouse.

I'm not sure how I can help you with that, Nancy, sorry! There doesn't seem to be a member by the name of nbshorty here, if that's what you're asking?

Oh that's too bad, Sandy! I really enjoy his sense of humour in the books of his that I've read - he's all about the wordplay. You could try The Colony of Unrequited Dreams, which is halfway based on a real person and deals a lot with the history of Newfoundland.

Remember, I'm asking ONLY for the number of books you read in the month of March, NOT the amount that you have read so far this year.
NOTE: Please don't give me two numbers to choose from. If you counted a book towards your personal 2014 goal, it also counts here. If you're not sure how many books you read in March, go to your "read" bookshelf and look at the dates that you finished your books. Any book that you completed in March can be included, as long as you didn't include it in the number you gave me for February.
Let's see if we can break 800 again this month!
(NO CONVERSATION IN THIS THREAD, PLEASE. I don't want anyone's number to get lost in the shuffle. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them in the original Can We Reach 10,000? thread. Thanks!)

I've had that reaction to books before, too - you're supposed to relate to and like the main character, and most people who've read the book seem to, but somehow you just want to smack some sense into them. ;)
