To resolve the tie for May's Genre Group Read, we've decided to make The Handmaid's Tale a May Buddy Read. Hey, the more fantasy/scifi books we squeeze in the better!

Okay, here's what Holly and I have decided to do about the tie -

Dune will be our official group read for the month, and The Handmaid's Tale will be a buddy read. Renee, if you're still willing to help with The Handmaid's Tale discussion that would be greatly appreciated!

Genre (Fantasy/Scifi) - tie: Dune and The Handmaid's Tale

I seem to have established a new tradition where I read a book from the Dune series each summer (the heat adds to the escapism factor when reading about a desert planet), but May is close enough, so I think I'll read the next one in the series this month. Not sure what else yet.

*facepalm* The perfect solution to the problem would be to send out a group-wide e-mail linking to the polls. Oy, my head...

Yeah, I've had to stop sending out invitations to the polls. We have so many members now that it takes forever to select everyone, even though you click once to select one page of members at a time, and last time Goodreads thought I was a spammer because I was sending so many!
