Nice! I just adore meeting people that love the same books I do! It’s like we grew up in the same town or share the same secret language. :D

Congratulations, Gareth and Nele! Will you try for a second Bingo?

Grover Gardner is such an excellent reader. He read all the books in The Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold, making them some of my favorite audio experiences. And, well, the books are just fabulous so that helped, too. But, really, any time I see his name, I know it’s going to be a terrific listen.

I know! I think Romance readers are the worst at rating their genre. I think it’s a much more subjective genre than any other. Somehow, even a badly written romance can hit the right note for a reader, depending on mood or circumstance. And that’s not as true for other genres.
But I still don’t recommend this one!

Warning! Warning!
I thought I’d found the perfect book for this month’s genre challenge.... A Western Romance!
Complicated There’s even a sheriff’s star on the cover! But it was so very, very awful. It was so bad that I’m actually a little angry. And probably will be until I find something to put in my brain that wipes away the poor writing and hideous, miserable, unlikeabke characters! Seriously, avoid making the mistake I did!

That’s an awesome addition! I’m going to track down a Romance Western right now!

Just a late moment clarification... one Feb genre is Westerns, correct?

I’ve read three books by Green so far. Starting with Looking For Alaska, because my teenage niece was really struck by it. The Fault in Our Stars was excellent. And I’d definitely recommend Turtles to anyone who has friends or family dealing with OCD or chronic anxiety.

Phew! In, just under the wire! Just finished
Turtles All the Way Down. Nice job, John Green.

Welcome, New Members! The challenges really helped me get back into reading. So glad you’re here to end your slump, slay your TBR, or just chat about books. 🤗

You might be able to scroll all the way down to the bottom and look for “Go to Website” or wording like that. It’s what I have to do with Audible to get around the app formatting.

Nina just described my happy place

The only way to do certain things on your phone is to open the browser. I use the Safari app and go to the GR website from there. It’s a small screen to work with but sometimes I’m desperate.

Adding my thumbs up to Tea Girl. I really loved it. It’s both beautiful and interesting.
Stephanie wrote: "Does this include thriller and suspense too? It is the genre I intended on reading more from this year.
