Oooh, I have read the first two Rosie books, but haven't read the third. You'll have to let me know what you think!"

The Rosie Result was a bit more serious/less funny than the first two books, so not that it was bad but it wasn’t exactly what I had expected. I loved the ending though so I ended up giving it 4 stars nonetheless.

118012 Good to hear Jenny! I’m really looking forward to the series!

How are you liking Rick Rordian, Eileen? It’s my first and I’m loving it! :)

Are you guys talking about Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys? Absolutely loved that book!

118012 I’ll be reading Percy Jackson (#2), Artemis Fowl (#1), The Darkest Legacy (The Darkest Mind #4), Red Queen (#1) and Quintana of Charyn (The Lumatere Chronicles #3).

The other reads I have planned for July don’t fit the theme but I’m quite happy with this selection. Really looking forward to them all!
118012 Thank you Rosemarie! :)

118012 Oh, I almost forgot about the Bingo! Will have a look tomorrow to see how I’m doing so far!
May 26, 2019 01:20PM

118012 Good idea! I think I’m going to listen to Treasure Island!
May 26, 2019 01:13PM

118012 Really? That sounds interesting Jenny! Would like to meet Britt-Marie again :)
May 24, 2019 01:05PM

118012 Looking forward to your findings!
May 24, 2019 11:49AM

118012 A Man Called Ove is the only other of his books that I read so I can’t really say if you should read that one or another one. I liked it though I liked Britt-Marie better.
May 23, 2019 08:22PM

118012 I finished Britt-Marie Was Here too. At first it seemed it was going to be a lot like A Man Called Ove, but it really surprised me. As Eileen said a lot of happy and sad moments which had me laughing out loud, then crying.

May 03, 2019 06:37AM

118012 Rosemarie: do you mean the one by Alexievich or the one by Storholmen?
May 02, 2019 10:18PM

118012 @Cindy: Neither did I! I’m doing a book-to-movie reading (and watching) year and I thought I was well prepared, had done my research and then suddenly this one showed up! In the Netherlands the release date is July 11th.
Apr 30, 2019 12:33PM

118012 Britt-Marie Was Here is mentioned as a humorous book and seeing that the movie is coming out soon I'll be reading that one.
And The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo sounds quite tragic.

My other planned reads (which I don't see fitting into this challenge although they all have tragic elements):
Froi of the Exiles
Gemini
The Gunslinger
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
The Ballad of Black Tom
