Great mix to choose from Jen. Added some fiction to your current nonfiction reads. Hopefully I chose something good.

The Majesties by Tiffany Tsao Staged (Busybodies Collection, #1) by Elle Cosimano Natural Selection by Elin Hilderbrand Sin City A Billy Cunningham Novel by James Swain Ladies Who Punch The Explosive Inside Story of "The View" by Ramin Setoodeh

They all sound interesting but I am very curious about the last book’s gossipy secrets.
Happy Reading 📚

I don’t know if loved is the correct term to use for The Long Walk, but it was a thought provoking and wonderfully crafted story. I can see why you go back and reread it. I definitely will, just not yearly. Now I just need to figure out how to slowly wade into his catalog…not a huge horror fan it will be baby steps.
1176148 I finished yesterday and enjoyed it is not the word I would use but wonderfully written, character driven, obviously ( don’t want to give spoilers in case others haven’t finished yet) and thought provoking. I can see why Alondra rereads this book because I know I will eventually. It will definitely stay with me for sometime, probably clouding every other dystopian book I read over the next few months if not longer.

Hi Lance,
As always I love looking at your PIFM shelf. Not into sports but your books always seem interesting. I actually added one to my TBR. My picks for you are:

The Real Hoosiers Crispus Attucks High School, Oscar Robertson, and the Hidden History of Hoops by Jack McCallum A Mic for All Seasons by Kenny Albert Roll With It by Brad Porteus

The Real Hoosiers: Crispus Attucks High School, Oscar Robertson, and the Hidden History of Hoops by Jack McCallum because it is a great movie and RIP Gene Hackman

A Mic for All Seasons by Kenny Albert because I cannot imagine covering all major sports at any given time… you really have to love the job and the games.

Roll With It by Brad Porteus because I am Gen X and it doesn’t publish till later in the month so it gives you time to read everything else (even if you have an advance copy 😁.)

Happy Reading 📚 and Happy March 🌷

I can help pick if you need volunteers.
1176148 Finished Still the Sun by Charlie N. Holmberg Still the Sun by Charlie N. Holmberg, another disappointing Amazon First read selection. 2.5 rounded up to 3💖💖💖. It dragged but I was determined to finish. Lots of mechanical talk, errors in plot, world building and skippy on so character development.

1176148 Ok y’all it is official, I am committing to my first King book!
My library just closed for demolition so I have about a 2 week hold before I get a digital copy but I will be reading
The Long Walk by Richard Bachman

Oh, and they will be building a bigger and multi-purpose library on the same site…estimated to open fall 2026….
1176148 I know the majority of the members will gasp at this but I have yet to read a Stephen King book! Maybe this will be the month…

Hi Joy! I love you shelves so much I hate them 🥰🤣🥰 I wanted to click I want to read on almost every book from your pifm to your best of year shelves and read shelves and you get the picture.

You have a wonderful mix that made it hard to only choose 5. Hopefully I picked ones to make a thoughtful and enjoyable reading month. My picks for you:

Dissolution (Matthew Shardlake, #1) by C.J. Sansom just read it and enjoyed it (funny thing I got book six for 25 cents then thought guess I better see if I like book one 🤣, at least it was free on Libby)
The Missing by Tim Gautreaux the other kindle edition is brown if you are doing the color challenge, plus it sounds good and I spent 30 yrs in Louisiana
Operation Wandering Soul by Richard Powers again cover color and just interesting story concept
Generosity An Enhancement by Richard Powers we could all use more happiness, right?
Girlchild by Tupelo Hassman it is Girl Scout cookie time!

And thank you for my two books that I am certain will be interesting reads ❣️

Happy March🌷

The Water Outlaws by S.L. Huang"

Finished this last week. I posted on cover colors but forgot about this new thread.

I enjoyed this book. Five stars. Fantastical story about women and gender fluid individuals who are living under Empire rule (Based on Chinese folklore) and this group of “misfits” band together to take on their oppressors. Their base of operations in high on a mountain surrounded by water, hence the title. Great writing with lots of magical realism/ fantasy elements.
1176148 Finished Let's Pretend This Will Work by Maddie Dawson 3 stars good but the MC annoyed me at times.

Also finished The Moorings of Mackerel Sky by M.Z. Emily Zack this is 5 stars. Truly a magical gem. Small town with a history of mermaids and pirates, and curses yet firmly set in reality. Beautiful writing.

Two of my books are on long hold lists so these might be my last two for this month.
