I went to France, Italy, Greece, and Croatia. This trip was delayed by 1 year, but it was worth the wait. It was absolutely wonderful. I saw the Colosseum, Herculaneum, the Parthenon, and a lot of other cool ruins/old buildings. I also went to several Greek Islands, and I even climbed up a volcano and visited some caves.

My next major trip probably won't be for another 2 or 3 years because it gets expensive. I do love to travel, though.

1176148 I finished another book: Ink & Sigil. It was good, but not great. I enjoyed the Iron Druid series so much that it probably could never live up to my expectations. I did like the main character, and I will continue with the series.

1176148 I read a lot of short books in April, which made my total books healthier, but I didn't necessarily make a ton of progress on my goals. Oh, well. I don't expect much for May either since I will be spending half the month travelling around Europe and the remainder scrambling to catch up with work. The vacation is worth the headaches at work, though. I haven't taken a real vacation in 3 years.

1176148 Alondra wrote: "t was a little better, as far as a book holding my attention. One thing I have always done since I joined GR, was read graphic novels, comics or cozy mysteries. I haven't done that as much, so I think I feel either overwhelmed or bogged down with reading. I think I just need a break from the huge tomes sometimes. I think I need to get back to that."

I try to mix up my selections a bit for the same reason. I love the huge tomes, but I try to avoid reading more than one at a time or consecutively. A graphic novel or a cozy is a good palate cleanser before picking up another heavy book.

True. I certainly took advantage of the few extra days in March.

Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "Seems a few of us have had rubbish reading months in Feb"

Maybe it's just a winter slump. It's pretty miserable where I live, and it is also a busy time of year for me at work.

Alondra wrote: "Well, you definitely read more than I did. I did read big books, but I just didn't make the time for extra reading.

Kudos on your progress. :)"

I hope your March was better like mine was.

1176148 February always seems to be lousy month of reading for me. Besides the month being shorter than the rest, it's a time of year when I am particularly swamped at work, which leads to my being too tired to read as much as I would like. Also, the weather is so terrible here that I don't spend as much time driving or out walking my dogs, which are the times when I often listen to an audiobook. My reading should start picking up again in March or April.

End of February summary:
1. 11/100 books
2. 6/40 series books, 3 in progress
3. 0/10 nonfiction
4. 1/10 classic novels or plays

1176148 That was a fun book.
Feb 16, 2022 05:15PM

1176148 I finished another book on my list: Crush the King. I didn't like it quite as much as the previous 2 books in the series, but it was still a fun read.

I have not yet decided which book I will read next. I either own or have checked out all but one of the books, so my options are wide open right now.
