Current:
Fit Soul, Fit Body: An Ironman and a Shaman Put You on the Path to Lasting Health and Happiness My tolerance for wierd wellness books is fading. This one returned to the library hold list. Maybe I'll be ready to take it on when it gets back to me.
The Light Between Oceans Paperback. Still working on this one. I'm enjoying the writing but not the sad topic.
The Santa Suit ebook. I wanted to read this at Christmas but it just now worked its way to me from the hold list. I'm enjoying it anyway.
The Long Flight Home audiobook. Just started this one but good so far.

I actually loved The Sentence. I gave it 5 stars. I thought she somehow captured the feel of the early days of the pandemic perfectly. I did read it not listen to it though. That could be the difference. Sorry to hear the audio production did not live up to the writing.

I know right! It's always really close so maybe they only play video games or watch movies based on books. They would really love to read books but they are too confused about their love life to actually read.

I've been on the fence about reading Razorblade Tears. So glad you enjoyed it! I've read Outlawed and The Four Winds and liked them both. Hope you do too. You have a great list!

Thanks Alondra!

Ahhh Stephanie Plum. I missed you. I don't know if the ..."
You are so right about these audiobooks. Spot on!

I had a similar problem with Dune. It's such a classic SciFi and I love SciFi. I tried several times over the years to read it and didn't get past the first few pages. Finally, I listened to the audiobook. I still wasn't overly impressed. When I saw your post I was actually encouraged. Maybe graphic was the way to go with Dune. Skip all the long boring sections and condense it down to only the action and it would be good right? I guess not. Come to think of it that didn't work in the old movie with Christopher Reeve either. I haven't seen the new one. I'm afraid I will fall asleep during the opening scene.

I hop..."
Let's just hope someone in the novel actually reads a book. The way she's going with these titles I suspect it will be about people who binge watch movies.

I wish I could stay awake at night long enough to finish a book. I'm pretty much early to bed early to rise. They did get one thing right though I enjoyed Sadie by Courtney Summers.

I think you will like it Alondra. While there is violence in it, it lacks that violent tone that is prevalent in many apocalypse novels. It is quieter but still intense. There are so many more things going on in this one, I didn't miss the fleeing-from-zombies action. It was really just a very good book.
