Such a fantastic coming of age story. Narrated through poetry, it evokes such emotions. I was happy and I was crying right along w..."
I loved Poet X also. A powerful book. Glad you enjoyed it too.

Dopesick is one of those books that constantly has you saying "How could this have happened?" Another nonfiction on a different topic but which had me asking the same question was Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup. I would also recommend the podcast on that one as well.

I have Firekeeper’s Daughter on my individual challenge so I look forwa..."
I've heard so many great things about Opal & Nev. I really hope it lives up to the hype.

LOL

I'm not having trouble at the moment since I haven't read too many. The bigger problem seems to be finding books about each one that come in somewhere under 1000 pages.

Ahh Lea, methinks thou dost protest too much but like you say no credit, no blame, just good books.

You are definitely one of the reasons Empire of Pain made the list Ioana. Also, Hulu's Dopesick (which you should definitely try to watch). It was not like the book but they did a great job dramatizing the events. They also gave more time to the Sacklers than the book so I'm interested in learning more.

Thanks! I'm sure I will Bill. It comes highly recommended by you and other list makers.

Thanks Dawn!

Thanks Ioana! Happy reading to you too!

Thanks! Read what you want always seems to be my best plan Desley so I think I can make it work."

Yes Desley, I agree. I have always been an active reader from day one but I don't know if I would say a serious reader. I'm the type of reader who would read the classic and then a book like Shades of Grey and then some contemporary fiction because I saw the film version on netflix and then a nonfiction on a side topic mentioned in the contemporary fiction and then an apocalypse novel because it turned cold outside and then a YA coming of age to lighten up and then another classic and on and on. It's the way I like to read but most nonreaders don't really get it. I've just been letting my library hold list dictate what I read a little too much lately, so I'm trying to shake free and get back to my stream of consciousness style of reading.

Spreadsheets are too organized for me. Goodreads is about all I'm capable of. Anything else takes up too much reading time.

Thanks Vikki!
