Did you read the next one, Stiletto?"I did. It was also a strong book and I enjoyed it but not quite as much. The second book changed narrators and I missed the old one.

Mmmmm, I like this one." Yep. It's like the author opened the book's front door and said come on in.

“Just in case you need it”
* To Kill a Mo..."Ditto to everything you said Alissa. I absolutely loved The Reading List. So glad you did too. I loved how the characters kept finding the list and the different ways the books helped them. Such a tribute to books and reading. Also a great list.

Waiting for Snow in Havana: Confessions of a Cuban Boy

So many good books on your list! 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8 all excellent. I can't wait to see your reviews for the rest. You've already added The Color of Magic to my TBR and now I'm considering Wolf Hall. This is a very dangerous list.

I want to say this is a cute story but that’s not the right word because it’s about grief, l..."Really glad you liked it Lillie! There was a lot in there about what people get out of reading. I liked that too.

Adding North Carolina with
The Santa Suit by
Mary Kay Andrews. Great little story that reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Adding:
Oceania/Australia
5. The Light Between Oceans, Australia 2022
Setting was everything in this book. A lighthouse off the coast of Austrailia where two oceans meet. Great writing.

Sure does! We've had a lot of rainy winter weather and I have ..."LOL! The only thing that makes me read less is other people taking up my valuable reading time. I sometimes fantasize about uninterrupted reading. Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's the book lover's dilemma. We need both the family, friends and activity of our real world and the quiet, friends and solitude of our book world.
Lillie wrote: "Oh man! I knew I shouldn't have started looking at what everyone finished in February, especially with being so far behind on my own list. But here we are and now I've added Moon of the Crusted Sno..."All great choices Lillie. Moon on the Crusted Snow may actually go on my favorites list and the others well worth the read.

Crosstalk by Connie Willis. I always enjoy this author and this book highlights her strengt..."You should give Connie Willis a try Bill. Her storylines are always interesting and funny. The only one of her time travel stories I have read was
To Say Nothing of the Dog (loved the title and the classical book reference) but I did enjoy it.

Interesting question. Are the short in-betweeners worth it? Generally I would agree with you guys and say they are not but there are exceptions. Fairest that you mention above is definitely one and all the short stories that were tacked on to the end of the Wonder series would be among my favorites.

What a great reading month you had Bill! Several here interest me as usual. You may have just added Both/And to my mental TBR. Good luck with Name of the Wind! I enjoyed it but it was such a brick.

How is Firekeeper's Daughter going for you? I'm hoping to read that book sometime soon."My latest books have been interesting and I've really liked them. I am only a couple of chapters in to Firekeeper's Daughter but I am really enjoying it so far. The writing is good which is sometimes not the case in YA.

I wouldn't say historical fiction was one of my favorite genres but I have read several since the beginning of the year and I have to say I have enjoyed them a lot. I wonder why when I read the book synopsis for a book set in the past, I don't get really excited about reading it but when I read a synopsis for a book set in some imaginary future world I'm all in. I really need to do something about this. Maybe I just need to choose my books a little more carefully. It seems when I find a story that intrigues me the genre is secondary. Do you find yourself gravitating toward or away from a particular genre?
Alondra wrote: "Awesome progress Michelle. I'm glad you've been enjoying what you read. That makes it mo' betta! :)"Sure does! We've had a lot of rainy winter weather and I have loved the chance to curl up under a blanket with a good book.

The Santa Suit a short novel by
Mary Kay Andrews. A young woman moves into a new home and finds a letter to Santa among the previous owner's belongings. She tries to locate the letter writer and finds friendship and love. An enjoyable little Christmas novel. I actually planned to read it before Christmas but it took me this long to get the book from the library waiting list. Still fun to read. It read like one of those Hallmark Christmas movies. ebook. 3 stars. Contemporary Fiction/Romance.

The Light Between Oceans
This was a wonderful, well written book with really heavy subject matter. The story follows a young lighthouse keeper and his family. The setting and the circumstances were vividly portrayed, and the story was an emotional one. I was mesmerized. paperback. 4 stars. Historical Fiction.

The Long Flight Home A delightful historical novel that centers around the use of homing pigeons by the British in WWII. The story was unexpected in many ways, particularly the ending but I enjoyed it a lot. audiobook. 4 stars. Historical Fiction

You guys are making me think that I've got to read The Color of Magic. How could I have missed that entire fantasy series?
