Welcome to the PG13 underworld of Boba Fett, kinda like Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles with out humor or pizza: https://youtu.be/neZFzZJqkP4
The Maw ★★★½☆ A lonely man hires a young girl to take him through hell ravaged lands to find his dog.
Dune gets a 9/10, it was the epic that was promised. Most impressive: Gently dolling out background information on a complex political space opera.
Impressive: Costumes & Sets
Only Bitch: the Fremen, while not native to Arrakis, have lived and adapted to the desert planet under close circumstances over thousands of years. They should have been depicted as a tighter monoculture than Japan. The movie had multiple accents and skin colors even among a single seech.
Overall, highly impressed. I will watch it again.
Legendary editor, Ellen Datlow, collects today’s best horror writers in tribute to the genius of Shirley Jackson. Featuring Joyce Carol Oates, Josh Malerman, Paul Tremblay, Richard Kadrey, Stephen Graham Jones, Elizabeth Hand and more.
I’ve seen both versions and they are gloriously colorful slices of exotic madness ending in one, two?, of films worst bellyflops.
So as an Announcement, the group is now public because GR changed some privacy settings and if the group is private a moderator can only email people on her friends list. I don’t know how long this has been going on. I just got a heads up today but I asked to join the moderate group so I will know about these changes sooner.
Skullpocket ★★★½☆A town is taken over by The Church the Maggot. It’s just as unpleasant as it sounds.
The Diabolist ★★★½☆ A lonely woman tries to use her fathers dark arts to bring him back. The love that finds her is not the one she called.
Canavan, I was found of the blind box pilgrims too. Even the choice of word, pilgrim. In the other story I read the boxes are maps like the box in Hellraiser is doorway.
