What is BFG and snozzcumber?

I like hearing those words, 'now, now' 'there there', bu..."

Hmm I know one of them but do I give you the right answer or my made up answer. LOL. Ok, BFG means Big Friendly Giant. I would assume by the way Emma wrote the statement that a Snozzcumber is from the movie. I could make something up but it will definitely be wrong and it is not necessarily clean.

Here is one you might like Sour cream and cucumber.

1 cucumber peeled and sliced.
1/2 onion finely chopped
1 pint sour cream
2-3 tbls lemon juice

peel and thinly slice the cucumber
add your onions
add the sour cream
add the lemon Juice and mix
Salt and pepper.

Let this salad rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hr. stir and serve.

114553 OK here is the Recipe I have tweaked it for my family's taste so it is different from the original.

Chicken an Bacon Pie.

2 cups cooked and diced chicken

the recipe I have says use 6 slices of Canadian bacon or lean
bacon, I use a pack of thick cut bacon, Oscar Myer.

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup heavy cream
2/3 cup milk
1 1/3 cups chicken broth

2 crust pie dough for a 9" pie pan.

I have doubled the measurements as we like a lot more sauce with our pie.

The recipe calls for 3/4 to 1 cup mushrooms as I am allergic I don't use them.

I use two chicken breasts I cut them up before I cook them in a little olive oil, two table spoons. I use a low heat and make sure the chicken is cooked through but not browned. Once the are cooked remove from the pan. Take your pack of Bacon and cut it up into 1/2 to 1 in pieces put them in the hot pan and cook them until they are just browning up but not crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan.

While the bacon is cooking finely chop your onion, about 1/2 an onion. I use a red onion as the add a little bit of color and they are a bit sweeter. Slice your mushrooms and place both the onions and the mushrooms in 2 to 3 tablespoons of Bacon fat until your onions and mushrooms are soft.

In a separate pan melt your butter with a pinch of salt and pepper add the flour and stir until the mixture is bubbling Won't take long. Add the chicken broth slowly and stir constantly on a med heat to prevent lumps. Add the milk and heave cream in the same fashion when it is bubbling and thick add the bacon chicken mushrooms and onion stir in and remove from heat.

Pour in your pastry lined pie pan and place your pastry on top and brush with milk. Bake in the oven at 400 F or gas mark 6 or 205 C for 30 min. enjoy.

I hope this works out as well for you as it does me. If you have problems let me know I am not the best at translating from a recipe.

The sauce for the pie is doubled, we don't like a dry pie and if I did it as the recipe suggests it would be a dry pie indeed.
