Age: Just turned 17
Appearance: Dwynwen has curly almond hair accented with tendrils of ice colored strands. Her eyes are an intense blue, as detailed and mysterious as the sea. Her face is smooth and angelic, although the scar along her right cheek hinders her beauty. People are often quick to judge Dwynwen because of her scar, assuming that she doesn’t belong in their regal society. She is 17 years of age and is only 5 feet tall. Due to how short she is, the other girls find it easy to pick on Dwynwen and compete against her, especially in such a highly honored event like the selection. Her height also limits her options for dress, giving her another disadvantage in competition. Though Dwynwen may not be the most gorgeous girl out there, those who are willing to see past her looks and find where her inner beauty lies are able to realize what a special person she truly is.
Preferred dresses: Dwynwen often lets her maid and stylists pick out her dresses, but has strong opinions about her clothes that she usually keeps to herself. She finds that she looks best in dresses of blue color to compliment her hair, or deep rose to contrast her eyes. She will never wear emerald green or yellow of any shade. Dwynwen dresses very formally and always wears long dresses. She feels most herself in ball gowns or dresses with a long train. However there is a part of her deep in her heart that wonders what it would be like to wear her old battle clothing just once… she thinks that maybe she would like it better than the dresses… maybe it would help her discover who she truly is and who she wants to become. Her statement piece is a medium-tone purple ivory gown lined with sequins and jewels. It billows out at her waist in a beautiful display of fabric and lace. It makes her feel confident and royal and forget about her past and flaws. Personality: Dwynwen has trouble standing up for herself and can come off as shy to some people, although truly she loves to be social. She is regal and has much experience with high society, although she is playful and has a clever sense of humor. She appears to be gullible and sensitive, and sometimes is that way, however she makes up for it in knowledge and strength in her powers. She is loyal and sincere and she won’t compromise those values for anything. Beyond her simple and proper cover, she has an adventurous spirit. In her heart she would love to fight evil and stand up for her kingdom, but the scars of her past stand in the way of her future. She has a hard past that she likes to ignore. Though she knows her true calling is fighting for what she loves, she tries to maskerade her real feelings with a royal lifestyle in fear of getting hurt again.
Powers: Dwynwen is a water elemental, specializing in ice work. From a very young age she had always been one of the most advanced water elementals, having natural control over her powers and being extremely strong in her abilities. She was employed to fight in battles at the young age of 8, and became a very skilled, yet graceful warrior. When she was 12, an evil took her family. The battle… the scars… the memories… it was just too much to take. She couldn’t bear to face the battlefield again. Since then, she refused to partake in another battle and rarely used her powers other than for the kingdom’s ceremonies or competitions. Her grandmother of high position in the kingdom took her in and taught her to live a proper, regal life. Dwynwen learned to live and love the fancy life, but deep inside she knows that this isn’t where she belongs. She belongs with other magic warriors. However, day by day she is losing more of her old self, and her fear is preventing her from trying to get it back. She keeps all of this secret from others and no one in the kingdom knows about it but her. She knows if anyone finds out about her past or her dreams, she will be denied entry to the selection: something she and her grandmother have been working towards for years. Will she learn to follow her original calling, or will she move on from her old life and accept new life in the kingdom? Will she betray what she’s been waiting for, for so long or will she chase the adventure she’s been craving for much longer?
