110440 In Seattle for my niece's birthday .. loved reading the bedtime stories to my niece and nephew! They asked for a Clifford book for first story and The Color Monster: A Pop-Up Book of Feelings for the second one. It just warmed my heart! :)

That makes sense Joan - I like that idea of posting a poem children could enjoy too in their memory.

It's so hard and unimaginable to think of children going through what those children did. No matter how dark things got, I don't see how anyone could do what that gunman or the one in Sandy Hook did :(

Just bought this on Joan's recommendation - good to hear Chinook! :)

I like the Japanese persimmon Esther - it's wonderful the variety of fruits and produce that can be gotten these days!

I am suddenly sensitive to eggs these days - so weird! Well I guess as long as I can find some things my body handles that I can enjoy, it isn't so bad.

Happy birthday to your sister dely! Have fun!!

I love the idea of her animal menagerie! When I was a young lad, I desperately wanted to live in a cabin in the woods with many animals, including a giraffe. That seemed like it would be heaven! :)

Just add it whenever you can Gill! We'll all enjoy it whenever you get around to it.

I had a rough day at work the past couple days and have not been checking Facebook messenger, Facebook, or barely even Goodreads. But I'll respond soon. :)

Job is written so poetically too Joan - beautifully written. I would love to hear that with Suchet reading!

Haha David! The cat is fairly naughty, isn't he? :)
110440 Loved chapter 14, so wonderfully eerie this haunting of Rimsky!

In chapter 15, I can strongly see criticism of the real conditions at that time in Russia .. this aggressive pursuit of people with hidden valuables and foreign currency, the coercive interviews. I bet this is one of the chapters the Soviets suppressed when it was first published!

I've quite enjoyed chapters 12-15, hope it continues! But I'm also still eagerly hoping for a return to the ancient Rome of chapter 2 - don't tell me the answer, but I'm finding myself wondering if at any point Bulgakov will go back to this thread???
