I think both Death of a Salesman and The Crucible are absolutely brilliant!

110440 I love this one Susie! Frost's poems have a strong cadence like music .. beautiful!!

Does anyone know - what is he talking about in relation to grapes. Do they require a longer cold season to get their full flavor? It sounds like maybe that's the case with his hoping the sun is retarded for the grapes' sake. I know nothing about the farming of grapes!

This sounds good Petra!

Oh Heather, I hadn't noticed that release date creeping up - thanks for the reminder!! I will start re-reading them soon!

Wow Esther, sounds like some bad weather conditions. Glad your DH is ok.

I remember many years ago in my 20's having a sudden hailstorm kick up while I was on a rollercoaster. Ouch! Hail seems so strange to me - I'm used to snow from my childhood in Illinois, but hail still can be a little freaky!

110440 Thanks Leslie, Alice, Alannah, and Nichole.

I thought of you when I went there Alice! I bet you could've given us tips on what to order. :)

Yes Jack, that's correct

It's fairly short Joan and comes from his late years when he was chastened during/after his prison sentence. It's more introspective and thoughtful than his earlier works of dazzling wit.

Just a matter of personal taste though. I find myself drawn more to the innocence of his fairy tales such as "The Happy Prince," the introspection of De Profundis, and the heartbreaking sincerity of late poems such as "Ballad of Reading Gaol."

The plays that the critics love are of course wonderful in a different way, and I like those too! I'm just more drawn to the later stuff.

110440 Thanks Marina, dely, Ruth, Angela and Laura!

dely, it was similar to Chinese dim sum in terms of the dishes, but I liked it even a little better! I'm not sure if that was because the restaurant was just very good or if it was because I liked the Taiwainese twist on the food. It was my first time at a Taiwanese restaurant.

110440 Next up I've started a creepy Halloween read, Books of Blood: Volumes One to Three by Clive Barker.

I'm sure I've said it before, but De Profundis is my favorite.

How fun Angela! Great to have those family celebrations - I still fondly remember going to Farrels as a child.

In fact, Ron's parents took me out on Saturday to a Taiwanese restaurant to celebrate my birthday just this weekend. The food was delicious, and the company was wonderful too! :)

Hey Chrissie, it's certainly worth a try. I'll ask the other mods, and if no one has an objection, we'll try archiving the old thread and starting a new one. We won't delete anything, but we'll start a freah thread for new comments. Hope that helps with your notifications! Stay tuned over the coming days.
