"hell no!" inglades yelled. "and yes, that's what i was essentially saying"
"the day has passed beyond our power,
the petals close upon the flower,
the light is failing in this hour,
of day's last waning breath." inglades actually sang so his friends could hear him. "i fear that the worst of this trip is yet to come..."

inglades produced a fine tipped dagger. "will this do?"

"it will be a painful sacrifice, i must admit. but if i must..."

"but i cannot abandon my mission. the nearest outpost of my order would be waymeet, but i fear it will be overrun. there may yet be helpful magic though"

"my order has some priests who focus on healing the spirit, perhaps they could help"

if not for the strange circumstances and obvious pain erica felt, inglades would have snickered at eragon for carrying a picture of his five year old self.
inglades walked to erica, putting a hand on her shoulder " whatever may happen, the forces of hell and the abyss be unleashed, i will stand by you"

inglades tried to make conversation with anubis, but fell silent uncomfortably soon after

inglades walked at the head of the line, only half aware of his surroundings.
his brother standing over him, holding the darkness at bay, the demon coming up behind him, ingaldes played out this scene in his head almost nonstop. perhaps if he had been braver, hadn't failed to tell his brother, Agrival might still be here.
the demon, cackling madly, as agrival fell to the floor, the rage inglades felt, and the macabre satisfaction of feeling his blade slip into the demons' throat

the man's soul would soon be his, he knew. even now, his servants scoured the area for him, searching, always watching. he knew enough to trust the images creshinibon imparted to his mind, knew that they were in a forest less than a day's flight from his tower. he strode out onto the balcony, overlooking nothing but a blackened city turned to rubble, with dark, winged forms flying low over it. to the demon, however, there was no more beautiful sight to be seen.

"he is (relatively) friendly, so fear not, elf" inglades struggled not to spit on the ground at eragon's feet

so much was happening so quickly. inglades couldn't take it! he had to rest, it felt like so long since he had slept... but he had to keep going. he had to keep his friends alive. he would avenge his brother knights. he would do what he had to to see his mission through.

"erica! thank the gods you're alive!" inglades ran up to her. "we were just leaving for waymeet. it's a very dangerous journey, so are you still for joining us?"

"she left in the night. i told her it was unwise to leave at that hour, but she ran off before i could finish"

creshinibon was aware of it's master's distress. the mighty demon paced around the ornate room, a stream of abyssal curses flying from it's mouth. "he was not here!!! curse to hell the fool who informed me falsely!!! a mighty flame formed in his hand, blasting away a lesser demon approaching it's master. the magic shard, known as creshinibon to the wise, imparted a sudden image it had sensed. the balor stopped pacing, and the flames around his body died down slightly. it smiled "hahaha, it won't be long now, and the key will be mine!"

inglades lead the group along the path to the south, towards waymeet

"we should go now... i don't like this place. i feel like I'm being watched"

"i will not suffer evil here, and if i must kill the source of the problem, then i will"

"if he attacks anyone again, i swear on my honor i'll cut off his head" inglades reluctantly sheathed his sword, glowing with an angry white light

i don't trust him" inglades muttered "and he attacked you! do you intend to deny that?"
