inglades walked in front of shaya, facing the dead."be at peace, or at least do not hinder us! see! even now, we seek to end your imprisonment here, and banish that fiend to the nether depths from whence it came, if not kill it outright! go! be at peace." he finished softly, and the dead withdrew several paces, syron even offering a knight's salute
(( i need to log out in about five minutes)) "there's nothing we can do short of killing the fiend that imprisons them"
"the dead do not have violence on their agenda..." inglades realized. these tortured souls were trapped between worlds, not fully among the living or the dead
there was suddenly a cold, wet mist around them, and the dead approached, though not coming within striking distance
about half way through, inglades felt the disturbing feeling that he was being watched. he saw pale faces staring back at him, and he almost cried out in hope, but then the horrible realization hit him. they were the faces of the dead.
((lol!)) "we must continue..." inglades said gravely. he drew his sword, it's white glow casting eerie shadows, but keeping the darkness at bay. he stood at the head of the group, leading them to the ebon tower at the center of the outpost.
the streets were deathly quiet, the only sound being the unearthly howling of the wind that should not be here, the empty city menacing in the dark. inglades paled when he saw the first charred skeleton...
they made their way down into the valley, and came upon a once mighty wall, charred and reduced to rubble. "welcome to waymeet"
"before we leave for the demon however, we must all be loyal to each other. on my honor and blood, i swear to give my life to save another of our group"
inglades started down the winding downhill path to the valley where the city of waymeet had been built. "he wouldn't get a warm reception like last time" he thought sadly
"i don't like the direction this is headed, but we should go to waymeet now. it isn't more than a half hour walk from here"
inglades grabbed anubis and eragon by their heads and banged them together. "stop ypur fighting you two!" he ordered((i think that hurt eragon more than it hurt anubis...)))
