1035419 I'm currently reading four books in addition to working full time so I think I'll reread Anne at my own pace and catch up with you guys in the discussion later on

Thank you for the recommendation! I was considering Kobo but now I'll defintely check the Sony PRS out!

I haven't been much into E-Books either (because I work as a developer and the last thing I need is more screen time when I get home) which is why I'm still yet to purchase an E-Reader. But lately I've been thinking about it more seriously because the available book selection in our local bookstores/libraries isn't that great and the mail service here makes ordering books from Book Depository a tiresome process

1035419 I was thinking about how I'd like to reread this book only today! This will be the perfect excuse to do so and it's one I have in physical format (along with Anne of Avonlea)
1035419 Also, if any of you guys uses an E-Reader, what model is it and would you recommend it?
1035419 Off-topic but if anyone's interested in joining more readalongs, Kate Howe is hosting one over the months of April & May of the Victorian novel Deerbrook. I read the first chapter today and it seems like it's going to be a real treat

1035419 Finished Part 3 and Levin's chapters -particularly the ones about farming, which are 99% of them- still make me want to smite myself 😂 I don't remember it being this bad when I first read it five years ago. Am I the only one? 😂

Turns out it's an abridged dramatization, but Project Gutenberg has the ebook so all's well :D

1035419 I failed to figure the twist of Iris being the real target instead of George, but I had guessed that Victor and Ruth were the guilty party when I read the scene where they first met. At first I felt smug about it but then I sensed that it made the ending a bit underwhelming. So lesson learned: stay in the dark and enjoy the book :P
1035419 Oooh this one's on the Audible Stories free service so I'll definitely be joining in!

1035419 Not The Secret Garden please, I recently read that for the second time and I feel that it's too soon for another reread

1035419 #1 I think it could've amounted to something had the plan been more elaborate, but it was too predictable

#2 Not in the scenes leading up to the party, but once we got to the event itself I knew George was a goner

#3 He hasn't made much of an impression on me. I can't tell whether that's a positive or negative thing. I guess I'll wait and see what I think of him when we read Death on The Nile

I have :D Almost done with Part One"

Yes! I'm working on that part now. What do you think so far?"

I've read this before but it's been over five years so I'm interested to see how my impression of it differs this time. So far it's okay, but hasn't pulled me in yet, (though it's still relatively early on in the book so that's only natural). Also, Levin's chapters better step it up because they're boring me to tears

1035419 #1 I'm also a fan of this structure. It makes things clearer for us failed amateur sleuths :P and builds up the suspense really nicely

#2 I haven't paid attention to her name's meaning but that you mention it, I did notice the same thing Erika mentioned. Shannon's observation could also be true though.
Maybe it'll be something connected with the motive behind the murder but that's a far fetched possiblity

#3 I think he might have suspected an infidelity but didn't have solid evidence, or maybe he did. In any case, I have no strong suspicions where he's concerned

This one is an absolute joy to read!! I can't wait to find out the solution! I think Victor is somehow involved in it
