1035419 It seems everybody -myself included- has forgotten the final chapters discussion :P How did y'all find this? Personally, in addition to its having great characters like Jackie and Linnet (Particularly the former, I really wish she didn't have to die ), it was a good boost to my ego having guessed the guilty party even before the crime took place.
I was thinking about how unfair it would be for Simon the cheat to end up with Linnet's money when she and Jackie would end up dead -if Linnet was to be the victim and Jackie her killer- and THEN IT HIT ME "What if the whole affair is just a set up by both Jackie and Simon?!!"
And so I continued to see all the events unfolding through the lens of that theory. The only thing that made me hesitant to fully accept this conclusion is that I didn't want Jackie to turn out to be a cold-blooded greedy back stabber (which thankfully she wasn't, But DEAR LORD Simon was even more of a douche than I thought him to be! What did they see in him?!).
Something else that escaped me was the fact that Simon faked his injury. I knew the whole scene was just an act since they mentioned that Jackie was an excellent shot so it didn't make any sense that she missed when shooting Simon so my theory was that she missed on purpose, it didn't occur to me that they faked the injury. That's another reason I wasn't 100% sure of my suspicions, as I couldn't fathom how Simon was able to move with his leg hurt like that.

All in all I really really liked this (I know that the solution probably wasn't as complicated as Christie's other books, but can't a girl have a tiny ego boost every once in a while :P )

So far I've only read the first two and ordered the third which will be arriving soon enough. I really need to continue with the series as I have the bad habit of starting many new series and taking forever to finish them :P

I'll join you for both The Little Prince and Anne Of Green Gables :D The July and August Picks sound great too! As to the October reads, I'm in for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and The Witch of Blackbird Pond. I read The Witches but wasn't really impressed by it, but I'm down for another Roald Dahl since I love his books

I'm dying for an excuse to reread AOGG so my vote 100% goes for that one

This is amazing! Much more affecting and hard hitting than merely drilling the information into people's heads. I'll definitely share it with my friends! Thanks Shannon :D

I'll continue if they're not centered mainly around toad xD He really gets on my nerves and embodies all the pet-peeve traits that trigger me

I haven't read this in about 11-12 years! So excited to revisit it!

I'm really enjoying this so far! It's got that cozy whimsical vibe that I love about early 20th century children's literature. I think I like Rat the best, though I'm not passing any final judgments until I finish the book. This is my first time reading it but I used to read similar books as kid so I'm fairly certain I would've enjoyed it had I read it at a younger age.

**I'm so sorry about your dad Shannon :( He seems to have been a wonderful man

I generally like any Poirot-sidekick tag team, because I enjoy Poirot novels overall, and this one's no exception. I took to Jackie right from the very start and I also liked Linnet. Reading the story at first I wasn't sure which of them will end up the victim, but I should've guessed Linnet was the one who's bound to be a goner.

I finished the book on Saturday and the theory I had turned out to be 95% correct (Quarantine must be doing wonders to my brain Lol! I've never been able to win against Agatha before Sparkling Cyanide :P Or maybe I'm flattering myself and these aren't as complex as the others but oh well, *shrug*) I look forward to discussing it more in detail once we reach the discussion for the final part! :D
1035419 It's the same link I found but they keep redirecting me to another edition :/ I'm going to try and contact them to see what this is about
1035419 Shannon, did you get the Kindle in Motion edition from amazon.com? Because I tried searching for it there but every time I click on it, it redirects me to the amazon classics edition. It doesn't do that in the .co.uk domain but my account is on the .com domain and I have no idea why it's behaving that way

There's no such thing as "booksmart", anyone who's capable of a civilized and respectful discussion can discuss their thoughts and opinions and they are 100% valid. I studied computer science so I may not be of the same calibre as language and literature students but that doesn't mean that my opinions or yours are any less valid :D

That's EXACTLY how I feel! When it's the other characters I'm hooked and thoroughly fascinated that I can't stop reading, Tolstoy is such a master when it comes to the human character and conflict, but that all seems to fly out of the window when it comes to Levin, with him 10 pages feel like torture. According to 2015 me, his chapters end up being good but I'm almost at part 6 and I hate him and his brother more with each page

I'm enjoying The Wind in the Willows so far. I generally really enjoy early-mid 20th century children's books.
As far as suggestions go, maybe The Railway Children, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The adventures of Tom Sawyer, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, A Little Prince...etc since those are some of the famous ones I haven't read yet. Also The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe or Charlotte's Web as those are highly due for a reread for me :P , but I'm down for whatever you guys choose
