Chad, do you know what the dimensions should be?"
Sorry Tracy. I've been busy building Christmas villages this week. It's looks like it's 970 by 246. I'm going to guess it just needs to be close and GR will shrink it down if it's larger than that.
Tracy Marie wrote: "I keep looking at this one, but I have too many books already for that month. March and April are full so is February too."You people are so organized. I just read what's going to expire next in Adobe Digital Editions. I never find time to plan things out.
Terry wrote: "When a publisher requests that you hold reviews until two weeks prior to publication, do they mean also holding it from NG, or just from Goodreads/blogs/etc?"Just from public sites. You can post to NG or EW as soon as you finish.
I try and read at least the first 100 pages. I feel like that's enough that I can review it. In my review, I explain that I did not finish it and explain why I didn't like it. I put them in my regular book to make sure I don't accidentally try and read it again down the road.
Tracy Marie wrote: "Oh wow, I have never read the first one. For that matter, I have never read Michael Crichton's books before. As I shelve them at our bookstore, I usually find them quite interesting. Maybe I should give him a try."If you like action adventure with a near future sci-fi bent, you should check his books out. All of the ones before his death are pretty great.
I finished The Andromeda Evolution by Daniel H. Wilson.
Yes, it is a sequel to Michael Crichton's The Andromeda Strain.
My Review - 5 Stars
Jennifer wrote: "I accidentally downloaded an excerpt of a book from NetGalley once. It's frustrating because I wouldn't want to write a "review" for just a sample of a book and share it to Amazon and whatnot. Thankfully, a month or so later, the full book became available for request and I was approved! I'll be much more careful about that in the future."I've been fooled on a couple of occasions on NG where it wasn't listed that it was an excerpt. It's so frustrating if you don't realize it until after you've read it. In those cases, my review was "I don't give reviews for partial galleys."
I'm not a fan of any kind of excerpts. I'm of the philosophy of "If you want me to review your book, I need to read or in this case, hear, all of it."
Terry wrote: "You Are Not Alone
by Greer Hendricks. Is currently available to be downloaded on EW."Thanks Terry! I just downloaded it.

I was just approved for A for Anonymous: How a Mysterious Hacker Collective Transformed the World by David Kushner.
