The big organizations of the world which have made great advancements towards medicine, food supply, economic equality, and so forth are loved dearly by the government. So much so, they'd let them get away with anything if it means they keep providing for the people as they have done so far. Behind those nice pretty brand names is a depth of anguish and torture that no one speaks about in order to maintain the 'perfect world'. Children have gone missing without any sign of where they've gone off to and the police are anything but helpful. It's up to you to keep yourself safe because the higher ups won't help you.
