[close] This group is a safe haven for people that don’t fit within the social norm, or mainstream normal, of society; particularly for people of a different sexuality or gender that is not considered “the norm”. I understand the hardships of being different than the mainstream norm, having gone through tough times myself, and would love to help, hear, or give to people who are going through them now or have gone through them in the past.

[close] This group is dedicated to the life and work on Alan Turing. Alan Turing is no doubt a mathematician and philosopher who is deservedly recognized as one of the most important and influential figures of the 20th Century. He is regarded as the fathers of modern computers and artificial intelligence. During WWII Turning single-handedly helped shorten the war by breaking encrypted German command codes. And perhaps most depressingly, persecuted by the very same government for being an openly gay man - publicly and humilatingly put on trial and subjected to "hormone therapy" to cure him of his "affliction".
