Did anyone else notice that the date of death listed for Gil Baruch (the security guard) is August 26, 2015, whereas everyone else's is August 23? I wondered if that was an intentional red herring or an error?

Emilie This is what kept me going to finish the book -- I kept expecting that date discrepancy to mean something. Now I think it was just poor editing.

Where did Scott get the fountain pen that his father gave him from? He lost everything in the crash and swam ashore with no pants even, and he never went back home to retrieve any of his belongings. So, while the paragraph where he gifts this pen to the 4 yr old is so touching, I was confused as to how he even had the pen.

A good book but not a particularly likeable main character, annoyingly so and I agree the editing was poor, far too many unhelpful passages and a disappointing ending am I alone in thinking this?

Some chapters were particularly complex for no reason. I feel the intrigue could have been better handled. And the end... what an anti-climax!(less)
