It made no sense that he suddenly remembered what happened during the interview. Regarding the ending I was highly dissapointed. The whole book was a waste of time for me.

I understood the ending and that it was more than just mechanical issues, but I wish there had been one more chapter to discuss the follow-up- Was Bill finally arrested for his illegal wire taping, what happened to the sister's marriage, and was there anything between her and Scott? I also wished they had elaborated and finished the story of the daughter's kidnapping- it just sort of ended with the private security firm entering the house. Overall I really loved the book.

I think the ending was pretty basic. The jets voice recorder reveals all and Charlie, the senator's no good nephew, killed them all on purpose out of rage at Emma. I found this a fascinating ending as the whole book was devoted to various conspiracy theories and none of them had any influence. Just a crazy man who totally lost it.

I too wish the story had continued to let us know what happened to everyone after. However, I was not disappointed in how it ended. I think it's a sign of a good book to not want it to end.

I felt like the real conclusion, for me, was his realization that life is made up of a series of moments/events that you care with you that make you. Not just things that stay in the past. It's so true and that was it for me. I didn't have a problem with the rest.

This book was on my shelf for the last 6 years and finally finished up on several flights the last couple days. Overall annoyed with the numerous times Scott tells his side of the story to Gus and OBrian and provides few details. Then all of a sudden in the final interview with Bill he remembers everything clear as day for no reason other than to “own” the anchor?? So many more interesting plot lines and theories but it was just a butt hurt ex lover who did it. Ugh.
