Linda Heather wrote: "The trolley is broken down and we are stuck in a tunnel for at least an hour.... might as well read..."

Yeah, that's never happened to me in NYC when we hear "Fire on the tracks!". ...sadly.......It's more like some person gets the homeless guy who's talking to his invisible friends all wound up and then promptly gets off the train 10 minutes later, leaving the rest of us to deal with it. Then we hear "Fire on the tracks! This train will be delayed half an hour or so..."

message 316: by Leslie (new)

Leslie Mora never again will you have to worry about audible credits. You can listen to any book you like whenever you like.

message 318: by Laureen (new)

Laureen Kinsey_m wrote: "Am I the only one that wouldn't want a machine to bring characters to life?"

No, me too Kinsey. An enjoyable part of reading for me is my imagining the setting and the characters. Imagination is an unestimated skill. I am usually disappointed in characterisations by machines and they ruin the book for me whether I have read it or not.

message 319: by L. M. (new)

L. M. Faris "Carrots!"

Lauri I especially like #3, 9& 13.... My mother almost always bought me a book when we went to the store (often without checking for inappropriate content!) and bought me all the books I wanted from Scholastic Books when I was in elementary school. Yaaaaayyyy Mom!

message 334: by Passerby (new)

Passerby Phoenix2 wrote: "Being paid for reading, yes please!!"

Seconded! The life would be much easier and more fun, doing a job u´d love. But it would have to be "reading books of your choice" for me. Ahhh, that would so bloody rock. Or another one: "We liked the story you wrote. Would you mind if we printed it for you/put it on sale?" That would be another dream come true for me as a booklover - a hardcopy of something you yourself created and other people being able to share the joy. Yesss, please.

Roger - president of NBR United - #3 for sure. Also your kindle now has unlimited storage and its battery never runs out.

message 338: by Jenn (last edited Jan 14, 2016 05:58PM) (new)

Jenn You know I think I'd want to hear combo of 3. and We've developed a way of stopping time for use only by readers to be used to catch on their TBR pile and make them available to read new books without missing on all the ones from before they wanted to read.

Additionally I'd love to hear You've been invited on a cruise that includes all your favorite writers who will be providing you with hardcover copies, autographed and personalized to you free of charge and they can't wait to sit down and talk to you about all of your opinions on their work and allow you to pick their brains about what's coming next.

Or how about of course we'll publish a hardcover run for your collection, it was totally an oversight that we never released a hardcover edition.

And then there's yes we have created a dust jacket replacement service for that awesome used book you found that has a damaged cover.

I could list things I'd love to hear in my bookish fantasies all day long.

Numbers 9 & 15 would be awesome too.

message 339: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Eliza wrote: "Mine's not on that....

"Okay, you want just everything from your Books wishlist on Amazon?" - Dad."

message 341: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Sílvia wrote: "I work in a bookstore, but it´s not nice: no one offers you a book just because you work there! :( Damn I love boooooooooooooks!!"

You know I'd just like to find a bookstore close by with eclectic, non-judgemental readers for employees. I don't need to work there I just want to shop there. I have the luck of either it being a huge drive to a good one or going to a store where I find employees that don't read at all or if they do they've got that look when you're an adult buying YA because they just don't get that good books come in all age categories.

message 342: by Pawan (new)

Pawan Mishra As you finish one book, the next one will be free. And your boss will continue to pay you, without breaking your reading streak, in anticipation of a world record.

message 343: by Shima (new)

Shima Is it weird that I've daydreamed about number 3 more than almost everything else in my life? ( After Hogwarts letter of course)

Also, a release date for Winds of winter? Please, we gotta be a little realistic. Like that's ever gonna happen.

message 344: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn The things I wish I would hear are:

Jon Snow isn't dead. That was just a hoax.

Here's the key to a house in the woods that is full of all your best books and no one will disturb you and all your meals will just appear like magic.

Jon Snow is alive. Did you think he was dead?
