Nice to see the staff replying to the users who have issues with the new app but not even acknowledging those asking about Windows phone. This site is getting more and more about excluding some of its users: first the non kindle ones, then the non American ones and now the Windows phone users.Emily wrote: "Chris wrote: "I'm having the issues with the error message again. Yes please, rush to this and ignore us Windows users. We're second hand users.

Windows App! Windows App!
Can't wait for the Android update! Especially running a Group on here, you can't do anything!!!! No new posts, no polls, nothing!
I apologize for not addressing this sooner! We don't have any plans for a Windows phone app right now, but it's great to hear that many of our users would like one.
Emily wrote: "I apologize for not addressing this sooner! We don't have any plans for a Windows phone app right now, but it's great to hear that many of our users would like one."Oh no!!!! please please do work on one! We love our Windows Phones and we love our Goodreads!
I like being able to see more on my "updates" page to include book covers vs. titles with links and broader detail on the book page. But, I prefer the original home page (with icons leading to each page) over immediately jumping into updates. With the previous home page, other options, such as groups and recs, were more quickly accessible. As a visual person, I like having my current reads at the top of My Books page, along with the progress bar and %.
Additionally, it would be nice to view likes and comments already posted via the app.
Emily wrote: "Ella's Gran wrote: "I have tried all of those options several times. I have also forced a close and re-loaded the app and get the same result.
ETA: My iPad was updated a couple of days ago and is running iOS 8.0.1
Emily wrote: "I apologize for not addressing this sooner! We don't have any plans for a Windows phone app right now, but it's great to hear that many of our users would like one."What kind of answer is that? Seriously, it's great you want one but sorry you're s*it out of luck? No comment. Maybe you should start thinking of giving us one? Why aren't you working on it? Why isn't it in your plans? I guess you don't care about us? But why? A real answer would be appreciated. You've been asked for it for a long while. Your above answer doesn't cut it anymore.
Also, if you don't want to give us an app, can't you at least improve the mobile site? You can't even add tags to a book you add because the drop menu doesn't work right and that's a basic thing. Let's not even talk about navigating among my to-read list...
It's really frustrating to be treated like second hand users when we partecipate to the site just as those you rush to make happy. As a user who's not American, doesn't have a kindle and uses a Windows phone, it seems I'm not even on your radar these days.

Well, what she said... actually. WHY aren't you working on an App? It's not like Windows Phone is brand new. Please actually give us an answer, and it would be best if the answer is "yes, we're working on it! We will fix the mobile page too!"

We are looking into this right now, and I'm sorry this isn't working for you :(
Just took a quick tour of the new app. Beautiful indeed! All of my problems with the app have been addressed, and I love lots of the new features. Great work, and looking forward to future updates!
Emily wrote: "I'll definitely let our development team know about this. Have you tried signing in and out to see if that makes any difference? "Yes, I have tried logging out, closing the App and then logging in again. I also tried deleting the app and reloading it..still getting the error message

The new iOS app looks really good, very in-keeping with the new iOS style! iOS is not my favourite smartphone system, but I really do like to see well-designed apps that fit with the design styles of the system. On that note, I am looking forward to a redesigned Android app as well, as there are definitely many usability issues and a lot of the time I think it is just displaying an embedded webpage. An app built in Android's upcoming Material Design style will indeed be great - and it would be interesting to see how your design team play on the concept of "paper" given that Material Design uses "sheets" of paper, and... books are also made of paper (fun fact).
For those of you getting riled up about the lack of a Windows Phone app:
Yes, minorities should be addressed and catered to. But also remember that Goodreads are a smallish team, and Windows Phone has only 2.5% of the global market share in smartphones, so whilst I'm sure they are looking into building an app for it, their time is precious and more worthwhile spent on development for the Web, Android and iOS.
Alec wrote: "It's always a great feeling when the app's start page is a great big error message."Inspires confidence! I'm not seeing any really great changes/improvements, but maybe that's because of the error that prevails.

SAME HERE! I don't know what thats all about....its annoying. I've tried signing out and back in, but it didnt seem to work at all.
AndrewP wrote: "My main gripe has always been that you cannot quote a previous post. That hasn't changed."UGH! Yeah, I totally wish that would change! It definitely needs too. I hate replying sometimes, via phone just because of that and then have to wait until I get home to do so.

We're wanting an updated one - duh there's one, but it's really shitty

Any chance on being able to have spoiler tags that work in the app? It makes it tough to use the app to participate in a discussion about a book when you can't see what's been written. Thanks!
Also waiting for a Windows phone app, too. I tried using another app in order to connect it to GR, SocialReads, and it's enough to track my reading although it doesn't have a rating system. The mobile site isn't much better either.I understand Windows phone is not as big as Android or Apple phones, but it still is a significant section of the market. I would understand if there was a Beta version in the work or something, but the fact that there wasn't even a plan to work on the app makes me awfully disappointed.

I really hate how some of the pictures doesn't load on the Iphone all you get is a html script and no photo.
Jamie wrote: "I really hate how some of the pictures doesn't load on the Iphone all you get is a html script and no photo."This shouldn't be happening. Where are the photos failing to appear, and what photos? For example, are you not seeing book covers load on your updates feed?
Hey everyone! We just pushed a fix for the errors on the updates feed. If you refresh your feed and sign in and out, then this should work as expected.Let me know if you run into any more trouble.

Excellent. I now have the updates stream instead of error. Thank you very much :)

I am running iOS 6

Thanks. It works for me without the error message now :)
Zeeshan wrote: "Waiting for Android app!!!!"There is an android app, it's not as good as the iPhone app though.
I miss having the notifications and private message button on the home page.

I'm having the same problem. It's suggesting GR servers are overloaded but I'm using GR servers on my computer right now with no problems.
