I've read
, now reading
, along with the Study Guide, and plan to finally read
, and Dean Koontz Nameless Series and catch up on all the Sandra Brown books I've missed since her last one I read...happy Summer reading everyone!
Working through the Booker and Nobel winners (not all in a single Summer of course), the Penguin Mahabharata and Ramayana, the 6 original Dune books, the Tolkien books related to Middle Earth (J.R.R., not Christopher - I'm not reading 12 *more* books of fantasy history), the novels of Orhan Pamuk, Cormac McCarthy, and the books of Stephen Johnson (though this may be a bit later.)

what's a must read this summer ? i want to read a really summer vibe book but not sure which since i tend to stick with darker books most of the year
Nancy wrote: "I love to read horror novels so looking for great authors like Stephen King or his son, Joe Hill. I also love beach reads by Elin Hilderbrand. I might try something new like science fiction. Any re..."The Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin for good horror. Epic.

I read what I'm in..."Other than the books that I read for the class I'm teaching or for one of the book clubs to which I belong, I'm with you. If I'm floating in the pool I'll grab an easy-read paperback. If I'm sitting insde, I'll grab a hardcover - mystery, biography, romance, intrigue - whatever I feel like at the time.
I am currently reading Scythe and The Sword of Summer and hoping to complete Renegades by the end of this summer. Any other fantasy recommendations form me?
Nina wrote: "I will read The Blood of Olympus and then Six of Crows this summer!" You are in for a treat. Six of Crows definitely lives up to the hype and Blood of Olympus is a worthy end to HoO which is one of my most recommended series.
Tanya wrote: "Reading Realm Breaker By Victoria Aveyard, my summer plans are to finally read The whole Harry Potter collection !"How badly I wanna read Realm Breaker but I will finish the books I have left hanging since months (Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and The Alchemist) .
PotatOtter wrote: "I'm going to try to catch up on the YA fantasies every one talks about 😂"Amen brother.
Madilynn wrote: "I'll probably be rereading a ton, and anything on my want to read list. I honestly can't tell you what I'll be reading, I never even know myself!"True that. I feel like my TBR is growing exponentially. I should probably get some reading done.
Kian wrote: "Nina wrote: "I will read The Blood of Olympus and then Six of Crows this summer!"Blood of Olympus is very good, read it asap!"
Worthy ending to a very worthy series.
Planned reading...HAH! I just read whatever I feel like at that particular moment. Don't plan, and never guarantee, anything since there are tons of upsets (life happens) in planning and there are no guarantees in life. Carpe Diem!

six of crows was a great book
Just finished listening to Ray Porter reading Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary and I am relistening to it. Just received the hard cover of it & will read that, too! Never want to leave Ryland Grace & Rocky!I am going to start Donna Leon’s Commissario Guido Brunetti Mystery series when I can finally pull myself away from Hail Mary.
Also have Daniel Silva’s The Cellist, Bloodless by Preston & Child, She Who Became the Sun by Shelly Parker-Chan & Craig Johnson’s
Daughter of the Morning Star all on pre-order for my summer reading!
Victor Matthews wrote: "Having just joined audible i have decided to listen to a chapter or two and then go back and read the corresponding chapters on my e-reader.I do not use whispersynch .As i am ancient, at times i do..."I LOVE Audible! I listen while driving or cooking or cleaning or walking. The Narrators can truly make the book. There have been times when I loved a book & made friends read it—they couldn’t understand why I liked it—it was the narrator! If a book I listened to makes my top ten I will read it. Great idea with the e-reader!!!
I plan to start rereading through the Outlander series on preparation for the new book coming out in November!

so far I've read All the Light We Cannot See and The Midnight Library, currently I'm reading They Both Die in the End, I plan on reading The Night Circus and the A Court of Thorns and Roses series next :))
Lydia wrote: "Headspace by J.D. Edwin!"Agree! I see a lot of people reading YA on this list and I think Headspace would be the perfect addition to those lists for adults who are into the style. Can't wait to order the paperback next week.
I have to start on the reading list for my next semester at Uni. Two of the books I am excited to read are Solaris by Stanislaw Lem and Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadaw
So excited to catch up on my reading after I finish with my exams! These books look to be totally my type! I am for sure going to be checking them out after I finish reading my stack of unread books!!!

I also have the series collecting dust on my shelf and I've wanted to pick it up but didn't want to read the books alone so as to have a discussion going on too. If you guys are interested we could make a read-a-long group or something so we could read together, maybe?
Maridele wrote: "Am I the only one that doesn't plan what I'm reading ahead of time? I have in my possession about 150 books that I "want to read" along with that many available on library ebook. I read what I'm in..."Hi Maridele, I did not plan either until I decided to make a “year list” with 12 books I definitely had to read. That leaves plenty of room for impromptu reading but covers the most important basis.
Have a lovely and productive summer!
read an ARC copy of headspace, and honestly... best book I've read in a very long time. comes out soon, and I absolutely recommend it for anyone who likes real and flawed characters in situations they can't control making the best of it.
I'm currently finishing up the third book in the series To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han, which is titled, Always and Forever, Lara Jean. I read these over the summer because I know it has ben such a popular book for teens, and let me tell you, they have been a breath of fresh air. I'm sad for it to be ending though.Afterwards, I'm starting an adult mystery/thriller called The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager.
Looking forward to Helen's The Heart Principle! Her characters are brilliant and the story narration is all things beautiful! Was waiting for this book since 2019!
I read The Authority Wars: Banished by T.H. Solomon. It’s become one of my favorite sci-fi books. The novel is set in an epic universe but the storyline is surprisingly intimate with amazing characters that I cared about more than just about any characters in a long time. I’m also reading Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson. The pacing is extremely slow, even for his epics. I’m enjoying it, but I do find myself trying to hurry through to get to the more exciting parts. Still really enjoy him as an author.

This is exactly what I do as well.
