message 56: by Ruheen (new)

Ruheen Not me having way too many books on my reading list-

message 57: by Marilyn (new)

Marilyn I make a list of 6 books from my very large home library. They are different genres. Some are the next book in a series and some are not. I like to mix it up. Then when I finish a book I go to the list and pick out my next read. It may depend on what I'm in the mood for at that moment. I might want to try an author I've never read before. I might just close my eyes and pick one. For me it's more fun not to know what's next.

message 58: by Tricia (new)

Tricia Oleson Is Goodreads going to do their summer reading challenge this year? I miss those.

message 66: by Beth (new)

Beth For this summer, I am escaping reality for the most part. Well, to be honest, I do that for the majority of my reading. :) Working my way through the entire "In Death" series, plus a few other Nora Roberts books. The books of Jayne Anne Krentz/Jayne Castle/Amanda Quick. And those of Darynda Jones. I have a few others on my "hold" list at the local library and, of course, anything that comes recommended by friends and that piques my interest. Oh, and I'll probably through a few "trashy" and/or paranormal romances in there as well. Why? Because I can. :)

In my experience, most people judging the validity of other people's taste in, well, anything aren't very secure about their own. It's okay, buddy, you can like what you like AND let other people enjoy the things that make them happy. You don't have to put others down to feel better about yourself-- you can just live your life, like what you like, and not put more negativity out into the world just because somebody else expressed being happy about a thing you don't like that hurts literally no one. :)
