Yay War Storm! I'm reading it now!

I tell this to myself every summer :) Perhaps this is the summer I *will* read it!

What are the elite sections?

What a co-incidence ! Salem's Lot was my first King book and I have decided to try the series now. Reading Gunslinger atm :)
How are you liking it ?
Also reading Sapiens in parallel. So I have two VERY different reads on my hands right now !!

It's been years that i postpone this series but it's such a must-read!

I will start next week, perhaps next Wednesday.

A huge read...

I finished studies not so long ago so i totally understand the feeling! Enjoy :D

So, I will begin with the books, I havent finished yet:
1. Queen of Shadows
2. Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy
Then I will reread:
3. Red Queen
and finally get to:
4. Glass Sword
After that I have to get my hands on:
5. The Heart of Betrayal
aaaaandddd....last but not least:
6. Crooked Kingdom
I want to read these books badly! I have 2 weeks free from work and I will do my best! Who needs sleep when you have some great books waiting for you???

I agree. As I am not a student or teacher with summers off (or some other profession that doesn't work during the summers), it's not like I have more time to read. I still have to work full-time! (And I usually take my vacations in the spring or fall because it's cheaper to travel then.)

I'm like that too. I do have a list if books I want to read, and some are priority (ie. the ones I am most interested in), but even though I have a list, sometimes I will see a random book that catches my interest and read it before the next one on the list. Also, I have to read what is available at the library.

Great book! Stephen King books tend to be long, and I'm a slow reader, but he makes 1000 pages seem like 400!

Oh wow! I can barely read 30 books a year (I'm a slow reader). This year I seem to be reading way more than usual, but that's because I'm re-reading some Roald Dahl books.

AND the Harry Potter series because I'm 23 and have never read them.
...after and before those, it just depends on my mood."
The Harry Potter series is great! (I was older than 23 when I read them--they really are good for any age!).
I'm curious about Gone with the Wind. There are a lot of longer classics that interest me, but I'm afraid of tackling them and wasting my time on a book I don't like.

Vanity Fair is on my list of books to read (one day!). Is it easy to get through?

That sounds fun! What are some of your ideas/choices?

I totally get your point. But some people read more while they are on vacation and some just always read. Everyone is free to do whatever he or she likes to do or read 😂😂

However, I would really like to finish reading The Railway Children and then try a bit of Charles Dickens with David Copperfield and Hard Times. "
I've read a few Charles Dickens books, and it's been a while since I've read any; I definitely want to read more. David Copperfield was the first CD book I read--a good book!

Maybe its time I get over my Austen-phobia and try a reread

It WAS required reading in my High School in ‘71 as was Letters from a Birmingham Jail...at the same time in the same class

I'm never normally an advocate of watching the film/tv programme before reading the book BUT I found that after I watched the BBC tv version (with Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle), I was able to understand the cadence of the speech and it made it a lot easier to follow...

Enjoy it! Took me about a year to read the series. If you enjoy audible the narrator for the outlander series is amazing

I read pretty eclectically as you can see from my list, and at 61....
This year, I am tackling Buddenbooks by Thomas Mann. If I can find a used copy,I’d love to also tackle Wilson’s new Odyssey translation

Heather..."
The Hyperion series is actually 4 books long, not 3.
