Admit it, we were all Kiki once

Public shaming is always an issue for netizens, not long ago was the infamous “Macam cantik je, macam comel je”, after that was the one-week relationship girl and now, the #CDM scoring the top 5 trends on twitter.

Admit it, we were all Kiki once. But our friction is not with Uncle Sim. Our conflict was not in a car-to-car accident. Our ‘crime’ might be vaster than of hers. Maybe our offense is too dark for the people to handle.

That is why God, has made it possible for our ‘dark secret’ to be kept as a secret, to not be taped on video and uploaded on social network.

So we are saved from being public shamed.

Why are you so entrenched with anger?

I am very disappointed with how the public reacted. The existence of Facebook has distorted your mind and made you share and share, comment and comment what isn’t heping? The fast widespread of twitter has driven you to snap a picture of her house and tell the world “this is the house of the #CDM owner”?

Why can’t you take a step back and be quiet?

Why can’t you refrain yourself from doing what isn’t necessary?

Why do you have to pour oil onto the burning inferno?

Why do you have to past remarks, spam her Facebook page?

Yes, she is wrong. She is wrong. She should not do what she did. Everybody knows that.

She has admitted that she is wrong.

But why the wrong doings of others, you tough-lash her like you are a saint free from bad deeds?

You judge her, you go to her house, you spread her car-registration form? What will gain from doing all this?

What if the same happens to you?

Do you want others to do the same as what you did?

Do you want others to hack into your private life and make it public?

Why can’t you let it go?

Why can’t we just let it pass?

We didn’t only lambast what she did, we reprimanded her personality.

For what?

“Because she deserves it”?

Because she is a disgrace to Muslims?

Because she is a disgrace to all Malays?

Because she is a disgrace to all humanity?

Lessons learned

I believe, she has learned her lesson to not act boorish to the poor old man, to keep calm in the most grueling of situations.

And this incident has thought us who we are judging from our comments we posted.

Let it go, keep calm and understand this hadith:

“If a servant, covers the shame of another servant on the Day of Judgement Allah will cover their shame.” [Muslim, Al-Birr (Virtue); 72]

Even God says He will cover the shame of a servant.

Who do you think you are?
