Hugo breakdown

No, not what happens to overstressed nominees -- the 2013 voting stats.

Hugo voting explanation here (it's not as simple as the work that gets the most votes wins)

You will have to get someone else to explain the arcana of the Australian ranked ballot -- it took me years to figure out, and I'm still a bit blurry on it.

Dorian It looks like a slightly simplified version of the Single Transferable Vote system that we use for all our elections here.

(PS - you wuz robbed! :-) )

Kaje Harper Congrats on Ivan running second.

Hélène Louise Congratulations for the second beautiful place, for me it's the first, I loved it ! And more, I think that Red Shirt is the worst Scalzy ever, really sloppy, with absolutely no characters (at the end of the book I couldn't even say which one was mâle or female !). Well, "tous les goûts sont dans la nature"...

I thought it was a very respectable showing. Consider how many F&SF books were published in 2012, after all!

Kat Thank you very much for the links! Congrats on the second place. I loved that book so much! It made me really, really happy.

It was really nice meeting you at WorldCon! Hope you're getting to relax and enjoy your week!

Ita While I've really liked most of scalzi's books, redshirts was his weakest, IMO. I voted for your book and was so disappointed it lost :-(.

Enjoyed the panels you were on that I was able to attend.

Michaeline Duskova CVA was so excellent. Redshirts is still on my TBR pile, but Scalzi seems like a good sort. Thank you for posting the breakdown -- lots of good info there for more in-depth reading (-:. The info on the fanzines was actually something I've been thinking about looking into.
