2007 LMB interview in retrospect

I wandered across this old 2007 interview this morning...

http://www.sffchronicles.co.uk/2007/1...

It's always a curious experience for me to read these, like looking over old letters from my past self. Particularly when I don't especially remember writing them.

Not that 6 years is all that long ago, in my perspective.

Patrick Do still agree/disagree with your younger self on any notable point(s)?

Are you still interested in perhaps doing a Wide Green World-next generation project now that you've been out of Dag and Fawn's head-space for so long?

Cassandra Thanks for posting this. How fast time flies and how easy it is forget- it must be like reading a mini- time capsule.

Any chance your interest and creative juices might be moving to the next two books in the Chalion universe? I would also like to thank you for giving us such amazing, thoughtful and often funny books that speaks to the humanity in us all.

My views on reader-response remain much the same.

The Wide Green World isn't saying much to me right now, no. Though I do remain curious about Barr and his half-farmer daughter.

Thanks for the kind words!

My creative juices aren't doing much at present. I've switched over to input mode for a while.

Nancy LMB:I am not especially fond of stupid personal misunderstandings as a plot-driver for romances either. Intelligent misunderstandings are much harder to bring off, though it can be done.

Me: Not by just anyone, but certainly by you.

Your statement so neatly sums up why I feel that so many popular films and novels are not particularly interesting. Has your "survey" of romance-sf crossover progressed much since you did the interview? I wonder how many wonderful authors' works I have missed due to classification into genres that I do not tend to visit. I almost missed yours.
