experiment in photos - Estonian BiA

The Estonian edition of Brothers in Arms came in today... I will see if I can get this new Goodreads blog space to show a photo of the cover.

Let's first try the one off the GR formatting tips menu

and see what happens.

Hm. Preview shows a blank. Try it without the recommended formatting...

http://www.goodreads.com/photo/author...

Well, that's the link, but not an image.

Does anyone know the trick of this?

Ta, L.

Later, experimenting in Edit...

Preview claims victory. Let's see...

Katherine When I follow the link above (to http://www.goodreads.com/photo/author...), I do see an image of your book cover--rather cool science fictiony, if not very specific to Brothers in Arms--with the title Relvavennad. I was going to ask whether that meant anything like brothers in arms, but the internet translates it as "band of brothers", which I suppose is pretty good.

Danko Bundalo Hi, the direct image link is
http://d.gr-assets.com/photos/1371075...

This one should work with the GR formatting.

If you're using Chrome you can get such a direct link for any image by right-clicking on it and selecting "Copy image URL".

Hope this helps!

"Chrome" to me is what they used to put on the bumpers of cars.

What does one do if one has Firefox?

Joy just testing [OK, I verified it works so you can put it in the main article, so I will remove it from here ]

Joy OK, do this without the space between the brackets and the letters/punctuation:

< img src="http://d.gr-assets.com/photos/1371075..." />

(the whole image URL goes in the quotes.)

More info here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...

Ah ha. Firefox works that way too; so one does not transfer an image by clicking on the link in the whichamajigger window, but rather, by clicking up the image into a separate window and clicking that link.

Never would have guessed that in a million years. Or keystrokes. Thanks!
